I have written about the yin and yang of my personal style, winter series, here and here. For this spring 2015 series, I sharing some of my styling tips. Here they are:
Accessorize in brights
If you have a closet filled with neutral or dark pieces, you can add some colour and energy to your look by accessorizing with bright accessories like sunnies, belts, coats, shoes, watches, scarves, hats, necklaces and so on.
Show skin tastefully
Do not show your legs and cleavage at the same time. Show some skin strategically by choosing one body part to show skin and keeping the rest under wraps.
Embrace your shape
Go for outfits that suit and flatter your body shape. For example, if you are an Apple shaped woman, you can aim to show off your slim legs, and disguise your large tummy area, you can choose skirts with a fuller shape to skim over tummy, you can opt for wide legged trousers to create better balance between your upper and lower half, and show off those slim ankles with no detail on the hip area.
Pair loose with tight
Only few people can pull off head-to-toe baggy. So team your billowing pieces with a body conscious piece like a skinny jeans, jeggings, tights and so on.
Fantastic tips.
Great advice on the don’t show legs and cleavage at the same time!! Unfortunately I made this mistake when I was younger but I know better now 🙂 I love the blue in the first outfit! Gorgeous 🙂
