The style icon for the week is a living legend in the fashion industry. She has been around for 93 years now and she is still doing her fabulous thing. Say hello to flamboyant fashionista – Iris Apfel. 
Iris Apfel is an American businesswoman, interior designer and fashion icon. In 2013, this style icon was listed as one of the 50 best dressed over 50s by The Guardian and we can see why. This woman is aging gracefully, she is what I like to call an Advanced Style Icon. 
Iris Apfel loves playing with bold colours, textures and colourful prints, she does not follow trends; she creates her own. Her accessory game is like no other. I will love to take a peep into her jewellery collection, I am sure I will be mesmerised by it. Her love of high statement costume jewellery is so cool. Her sunnies are right up my street. I am in love. Here is a quote from her interview with style.com:
A woman should know herself, and know what she can afford, not only financially, but if she can carry it off. She should know whether she wants to invest her time in studying herself and experimenting—it doesn’t come from out of the blue. Personal style is attitude, attitude, attitude. It has to come from within. You have to develop things yourself. It takes a long time and it isn’t easy. Lately I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a difficult thing for a lot of women, and it makes them uptight and nervous. You don’t have to be a fashion plate; if it’s a choice of being uptight and nervous, I’d rather be badly dressed. If you’re happy, that’s the most important thing. If you want to experiment, try, but no one is going to put you in jail if you buy the wrong skirt.

Iris has style, poise and class for days, i’d love to do a photoshoot in her house as I’m sure the art and decor is amazing, not to mention how great her wardrobe, shoes and jewellery sections must look. But most of all, i’d love to sit her down and talk about her beauty and health regime, for me thats where the real marvel is at!
