Helena Bonham Carter is famous for her unique talent and quirky stage presence, but she has been committing fashion crimes for a very long time, so she is the Fashion Criminal of the week on Fashion and Style Police.
This woman is a fashion disaster. Her quirky, eccentric style is not only plain wrong, it is all over the place. She wears some of the most ridiculous outfits I have ever seen. Her pieces and accessories are so weird, it is quite laughable. I get she doesn’t give two hoots on what people think about her fashion sense and she dresses for “herself” but I cannot get over the fact that she leaves her house dressed like a mismatched doll. Her disheveled look is an eye sore but then again her style icon is Lady Gaga, a previous fashion criminal, so what was I expecting?
No one can walk the streets looking like this, you will be mistaken for a crazy woman, except you are a Helena Bonham Carter. She once told the Daily Mail:
‘But fashion is all about having fun. I think fashion has been hijacked by the fashion industry creating rules on what one should wear and I feel like breaking the mould and seeing that the world won’t crumble. For me, fashion is all about fantasy and putting unlikely things together. That is what I love. I genuinely love dressing up.’
I agree with her. Fashion is all about having fun, but she has taken the idea of ‘fun’ to a completely different level. Real stylish women do not follow the dictates of the fashion industry, they create their own signature look and look fabulous. You can be quirky and fabulous.

Can I be honest? I’ve loved HBC for over 20yrs now, and I love her approach to fashion, its that classic eccentric bonkers English Dame. You can tell she doesnt have a stylist buzzing all over her, she is raw, real and doesnt give a flying F. It suits her, it suits the roles she picks- I adore her!

She does have a stylist she just doesn’t use them everything she steps out the house! She loves Viv Westwood who lest face it has a very whacky eccentric reputation, HBC is f ing beautiful she would look good wearing a Tuna fish, oh wait she already did that, I love her and good on her for not giving a F what people think/say we live in a society where we allow strangers to dictate and judge us despite the fact they are exactly that, strangers ! Love her always will!
