Vanity sizing is one issue I do have. I sometimes struggle to find pieces with a perfect fit. I am a petite woman (just 5″2), and I am a usually a size 10 in most stores, but in some stores, like River Island and Topshop for example, I could find myself going for a size 12 pair of skinny jeans, and I am like, but why?
For someone who prefers shopping online, and who hates trying on clothes when I do go into the shops (I find it so hard, don’t ask), I do find myself stuck with ill-fitting clothes, buried in my ever-growing wardrobe, never to be seen again. It is like money down the drain really, and it has been a major shopping turn off for me. Why buy new clothes when they may not fit properly? That is another reason why you notice I mainly shop in few, selected UK stores. I just cannot be bothered trying 5 different sizes in a new store before I find the right size.
I still do not understand why I can fit into a size 8 top in stores like Next, a size 10 skinny jeans in stores like Debenhams, and a size 12 skirt in a River Island. Why do I always have to think and THINK again about the store size before shopping? Why can’t it be one size for every store? Why do retailers have to make shopping so hard? Like we don’t have enough worries already.
It took me a long time to finally come to terms with the fact that I am a different size in most shops, it took me a while to discover what size I was in my favourite shops, and it is still hard work remembering. I still unconsciously go for a size 10 piece when I go into a store, or shop online. Then I have to think of my size for that store. Sometimes, I find the style of the piece determines the size, the tighter the piece, the higher up I go. With all this confusion, you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon SizeStyler.
The way SizeStyler works is quite simple, you take your key measurements; bust, waist, length, hips, and so on, put these measurements on SizeStyler website, and the site will check hundreds of brands and recommend your best fit across thousands of products. Isn’t that the coolest thing ever?
SizeStyler will also instantly filter out pieces that won’t fit so you don’t waste time, keep you up to date with the latest High Street and Designer ranges, as well as the latest sales and promotions while you shop. This site takes the whole stress out of the sizing, you just need to put in your details once, and it does all the work for you. For someone who enjoys shopping online, this website is a lifesaver for me. I will be making the most of this website during the january sales, and shop in stores I haven’t shopped before, since I won’t have to worry about the sizing with SizeStyler searching for me.
Do you struggle with having various sizes in different stores? What do you think of SizeStyler? Drop me a comment, let’s chat.

That does sound frustrating, I am a size six to 8, 8 at the top and six at the bottom but because my legs are so long some trousers can look like ankle swingers which is frustrating.
Try the website, let Size Styler do all the work for you.
Interesting! I don’t shop online very often because of the size issue. I’m 5″8 and wear size 10-12, and I get very confused online if I should order a 10 or 12. Same problem for ordering shoes online!
Yeap…Different sizes for different shops. So frustrating. Guess that is where SizeStyler comes in.
I don’t like shopping online cos of size issue. I am always scare if it will be the right size . I am a size 12 in some styles and shops and 14 in others. In fact I have had to use 10 for some tops. Also I hate trying clothes on at the shops. Shopping is always too much of headache for me lol.
I am glad I am not alone. Online shopping can be such a pain sometimes x
I struggle not only from shop to shop but from product to product. Sometimes i’ll go into a single shop and have three different sized clothes to try on. I almost always end up sending back half of what I ordered online for this reason! x
So this happens to majority of us then. Think we should sign an online petiton or something so these brands stop messing with us, lol…
what a great concept! I just wish they were more inclusive and went up past a size 18
Yea it is a great concept. I will pass the feedback on board. Thanks Kitty.
This sounds like a really interesting concept – I’m definitely going to have to look into it more. x
You should Sarah. It is so cool
This sounds great. I am moving to Switzerland soon and clothes are so expensive there, also affordable fashion that looks great, is hard to find, so I will rely on ordering a lot online once I move.
Oh make sure you check out Size Styler then. You may find it useful. Good luck with the move.
Everyone has different shape and size and I have 3 different sizes around my body! Like jackets always 6, jeans is 8 but pyjamas oversized 😉 Great concept and useful! May try!
That’s so convenient! I do agree that we have different sizes in different stores. But I somehow find it quite easy to assess the fit just by holding up the item. Haha! I’m a petite 5’2″ girl too!
Love it! What a great idea and so helpful. I also struggle with different sizes so this is rather perfect!
Yea it is.
This is a fantastic idea. I have problems with sizing so this would really help!
Oh check it out
I am 2-3 different sizes depending on where I shop, I pay less attention to the size and more to whether or not it fits properly x
Yea true but it is hard work trying 3 different sizes.
I love this concept. i find it very hard to shop online esp as a plus size woman
Yea I know. It’s so hard for me to shop too.
Vanity sizing is so horrible and can definitely cripple people’s body confidence, especially young girls!
Yea it can.
