My Good Night Sleep Essentials

Every now and again, I like to write a lifestyle post that has nothing to do with fashion, beauty, or blogging.  Variety they say is the spice of life, and I like to keep Fashion and Style Police well varied, so we all don’t fall asleep, lol.  I enjoy writing about various topics, I find it refreshing, but I like to keep all the topics related somehow.

I am seriously looking forward to Summer. I am so sick and tired of winter. I know I have said that a billion and one times already, but it feels like it has been winter since forever. I am looking forward to some sunshine and longer days but I will miss layering. This winter has felt longer than normal and it is even getting colder here in Cheshire, so am wondering if it will ever end.

We will be looking at making some home improvements during the summer which I am very excited about. The home office is currently a dump site so that needs sorting out, because working on the sofa and on the bed is doing my back no good. Also, I need to look out for some cheap beds, we have two that need replacing, and we need some new beds for the kids as well, they are growing out of the beds faster than fast, so that needs sorting out too.

Also, need to update our bedding collection. I love a modern bedroom, the bedroom above is my ideal bedroom. I am loving the lamp on the bedside table and the sheets look amazing, bedroom goals right here.  I like my duvet covers when they are new, I mean, who doesn’t like new/clean sheets?

I value a good night sleep a lot.  I get really grumpy when I don’t get enough sleep. So having the room in the right temperature, a nice warm cup of milk or hot chocolate with right mattress, crisp bedding and some white noise for when the little people are awake is essential.

What are your good night sleep essentials? Do share.

  1. I found the most relaxing thing for a bedroom is to have it in grey! I don’t like the colour any other time than night time but it really helps to have a good night rest

  2. I love a new fluffy duvet as well, it makes my bed feel like a luxurious hotel bed rather than my usual bed – love the bedroom image as well, bedroom goals right there! x

  3. A good night rest does make a big difference, doesn’t it? I am in the process of updating our bed too. I sold our old one two weeks ago and need to find replacement beds now that better suit the size of our rooms.
My night sleep essential is a dark room to block out the morning light. I made blackout curtains last year that are working very well at the moment.

  4. I have insomnia these days! Can’t shut it down, so I only sleep 2 to 4 hours most days and nap here and here. Babies… >_<. But a good night sleep essential involves taking a good bath and a warm body cream to relax me even if I won't sleep long. #Powernap 🙂

  5. That bed spread is lovely! I like a bedroom to be cosy, we are getting a new bed soon too so have been shopping around but the style I want is quite expensive. I agree, clean and preferably new sheets give the best nights sleep

  6. I recently got a new bed, it took me ages to find the right one and now I sleep like a baby! I used it as an excuse to get all new accessories too so I treated myself to some really expensive bed sheets, throws and pillows… I now feel like I’m falling into a bed fit for a queen every night and fall straight off to sleep! xx

  7. A good night sleep is very essential and refreshing. i love a cosy room, new sheets, good matress and pillows to support my back and neck. i really love the beddings on your blog, it is very cosy.

  8. Same here, I can’t wait for summer and I just bought bedding in similar tones to the ones in your picture. Yellow makes me feel happy!

  9. I agree with you. I am so ready for summer.

A good bed is essential. We have a huge super Kingsize bed with a memory foam mattress. I love it but it took us three YEARS to pay off.
