Cryotherapy: The Ice Age

Cryotherapy: The Ice Age

So if you follow me on Twitter, you will know all about my trip to Nicky Clark Manchester over the weekend for a cryotherapy session. Well if you didn’t know, you know now. I had an amazing cryotherapy session with the lovely Jourdanne at the salon, and it was an amazing experience.

If you remember, I had my first cryotherapy treatment on my stomach, some months ago. Well, this time I went for the face, and I am happy I did. This session was amazing, it was a lot better than my first session I had at a different clinic. I am so happy I went ahead with it.

For those who don’t want cryotherapy is about, let me break it down:

Cryotheraphy is the use of extremely low temperatures to reduce fat in body areas, improve skin tone, smooth facial wrinkles, reduces acne, relieves pain, injuries and muscle damage, decrease inflammation, and increase cell rejuvenation. The treatment originated from Japan, and the whole idea behind it, is the liquid nitrogen-based freezing technology on a concentrated area to trigger a physiological reaction to cold temperatures.

Here are some of the benefits of cryotherapy:

  1. No pain, no surgery, no side-effects.
  2. Skin rejuvenation.
  3. Stretch mark reduction.
  4. Skin tightening.
  5. Wrinkle reduction.
  6. Bum lift.
  7. Face lift
  8. Acne reduction.
  9. Swelling reduction
  10. Recovery from sports injuries.

I can go on and on about the benefits of the cryotherapy treatment but instead of writing about that, I am going to tell you about my second experience, which was a lot better than my first.

This session lasted for an hour. It started off with a consultation, form filling and all, and then I wrapped up in warm towels and started the treatment.

Using Neal’s Yard Remedies products, my face was cleansed, exfoliated and toned. A face mask was applied to my face and left for 15 minutes, while I enjoyed a shoulder, neck and scalp massage whilst listening to some cool music. It was super relaxing.

After 15 minutes, the face mask was removed, a face toner was applied and then what felt like very cold ice spray was applied for 6 minutes on each side of the face.

After the treatment, each side of the face was massaged to stimulate blood flow, a toner to remove oil, and finally, a moistuirser.

I am sure you can see a clear difference in the before and after pictures. My skin tone looks evenly toned, a lot smoother and brighter. I am extremely happy with the results. I found the treatment relaxing and I recommend it to every woman needing a face lift. Go for a Cryo Face Lift instead, at £85 for a single treatment, it is worth every penny. That treatment hour was my most relaxing hour of the month.

I have a short video clip of me undergoing the treatment on Instagram, so feel free to take a look.

What do you think of this treatment? Drop me a comment, let’s chat.

Thanks for reading.

  1. Not heard of it before. But your session sounds most relaxing. You have lovely skin too, and I can see a difference in the before and after. Most of all is how you feel. I love the feeling after having a professional facial, so I can only imagine that you felt refreshed and fab.

  2. Oh wow, your skin tone looks amazing! I’ve heard of this before but I must admit I’ve been pretty skeptical about it…but your skin looks great. I need to check this out. Did the ice spray hurt?
    Have a great week!

  3. Wow you look relaxed. I have not heard of it before but it sounds fantastic. I can see a glaring difference in before and after. Thanks for for the information.

  4. I have never heard of this before and had I done so I would have been skeptical. However, even I can see a clear improvement from the pictures. Maybe I should check it out.

  5. I really really want to do cryotherapy. I am hoping to get an appointment this weekend. I wanted to do it because of the arthritis in my neck and I did something to my thigh working out, so I was hoping that it could help…. but now I learn there are skin benefits as well. oo man, I want, I want, I want!
