Hey peeps. If you have been following my laser hair removal journey, then you will know all about what stage I am at with my treatment, and this lovely green chair, where all the magic happens. Well if you didn’t know, you know now (wink wink). This is my fourth session, I am having my chin hair permanently removed, through laser treatment, at Laser Chic Manchester, and it is going extremely well. I had really coarse hair on my chin, but it has gone really fine and thin now, and the new growth that comes up weeks after the treatment is almost invisible to the naked eye.
This session went as normal, the lovely Seti, the clinic owner, wiped my makeup off my chin, and then the laser machine got to work. The heat on the machine was increased in order to get to the very thin hairs on the chin, so it was slightly more uncomfortable than my previous sessions, but it was still very bearable. The treatment was over in less than 10 minutes, and then the Janssen Cosmetics Sensitive Skin Complex was applied to the chin to cool off.
I am loving the fact that my chin will be hair-free in a couple of weeks, and I can’t wait. I have two more sessions which I will be having within the next 8 weeks, and I am so excited.
I think most women are uncomfortable talking about their body insecurities, whether it is facial hairs, stretch marks or other skin problems, and will shy away from even telling themselves they need to sort out whatever the insecurities might be, and I get that many people think laser treatment is kind of harmful and will hurt like hell, and they are so wrong. There is nothing harmful about laser treatments as long as it is done at the right clinic, and yea it could hurt, depending on what your pain threshold. I find it a tiny bit uncomfortable, like a sting, but definitely not as painful as waxing or threading, so if you can wax or thread, then you can undergo laser treatment.

I would love to have laser hair removal and I’ve always contemplated it but the price has put me off. I know it works out better for your funds in the long run, but it’s a lot of money to pay upfront. It’s wonderful to hear it has worked so well for you though!

A friend of mine (fellow blogger) had some hair removal last year too, it’s all the craze now! I’d get my eyebrows done if they’d alow it, I’m forever removing my mono-brow. AGH!

As someone with PCOS this makes me happy 🙂 I’m so glad the treatment is working for you! I’ve been using the Philips Lumea on my chin, a few tiny spots on my cheeks and upper lip. I’m due my 3rd treatment today if I can ever find the bloody charger 😀 The Lumea kinda stings too on some hairs (the thicker ones I think) but like you say, no where near as much as waxing. Ouch!
I find waxing and threading so damn painful..
Laser is such a great concept and I am so excited to have more treatments done on my underarms. Definitely going to look into having it done on more areas too x

Thanks for sharing. My child is half from a different culture and seems to have visible hair above her lips. She was teased at school and she is only 7 so im reading about hair removal as i anticipate it maybe an option when she is a teenager.
Oh my. I hope she is not letting the teasing get to her. Kids can be so mean sometimes. At that tender age, being teased is so hard. Yea am sure she can have it done with your approval once she is a teenager x
Laser Hair removal is something ive always been curious about, it is pricey though so im not sure if i would ever be able to do it.
It is but it is worth every penny x

I think it is great that you are raising awareness and highlighting that we all have insecurites and should be open about speaking about them. If I could I would laser my facial hair because I look like I have sideburns and being able to get rid of the hair on my lip and the middle of my forehead would be amazing!
Yea a lot more needs to be said about these insecurities many women face and afraid to talk about it x

I’ve been following your laser hair removal journey and I am looking forward to seeing the final result. I always thought laser removal would be painful.
Yea many people think that and I wonder why…
I have been looking into getting one of them No!No! hair removal devices but have heard mixed reviews on them. I have heard that they are not painful but also that they are not that effective, maybe this is a better route to go
Yea I heard they are not that effective so I didn’t bother with them. Think laser is the way forward.
I think you’ve been really brave to have this done and to highlight all the procedures, it may encourage more women who want to take this step.

I really thank you for sharing your laser hair removal journey. I’m really considering getting laser treatment however the hair starts from the top of my chin going to the next. I don’t if the small treatment price will cover to whole chin but it’s time to get rid of the hair.
I think it would cover the whole chin in most clinics. Find out..Good luck.
