Duchess of Cambridge Covers British Vogue June 2016

We have royalty on a magazine cover this month. The elegant Duchess of Cambridge, is on the cover of British Vogue for June 2016, and she is looking beautiful as always.

This is a very different cover from Vogue. I must confess I was expecting to see another supermodel, so seeing the Duchess on the cover was a pleasant surprise. This is the first magazine shoot, she has ever consented to and I am not surprised she agreed to do Vogue. The Princess of Wales, Princess Margaret, the Queen Mother, and the Queen have all been photographed by the Vogue team over the past 100 years. Also, Princess Diana appeared on the cover of British Vogue in 1994, so it kind of answers why she decided to appear on Vogue. Following in their footsteps I guess.

“It’s a huge honour and incredibly exciting for us to have HRH The Duchess of Cambridge featuring on the cover of British Vogue and as part of our centenary issue,” Vogue editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman said today. “For me personally it has been a wonderful experience to have had the opportunity to work with her on this, and I am immensely proud of what we have produced. This special issue of the magazine is very close to my heart as it had to reflect on 100 years of British Vogue, and so I am hugely grateful that we have been able to continue with our tradition of outstanding royal portraiture with these pictures.”

I love the fact that the Duchess of Cambridge is dressed casually in these photos photographed by Josh Olins. She looks like an everyday girl next door, which I find refreshing. I love her hair a lot. I think she can give Jennifer Aniston a run for her hair money any day. I haven’t bought a Vogue in a while so I can see myself buying this issue. What are your thoughts? Will you be buying?

  1. I love her but the cover looks way too photoshopped to me. There is something about her face that looks masculine when in reality, she is a very beautiful woman. I wish the photos were less posed.

  2. Have to agree, the photo is heavily photoshopped. I wouldn’t really expect anything less, so of course she does look absolutely gorgeous, as would most women given the same editing treatment. I do love the clothing though, a lot less stuffy than what she’s often made to wear when on royal duty. Tx

  3. I am a big fan of the royal family, especially her! She does look a little different in these photos, which is a shame if they were heavily photoshopped! But it is nice seeing her in casual clothes.

  4. Like many of my age group I went through a very anti monarchy when Diana died. For me he only reason the monarchy survived was the boys; Wills and Harry. I have mellowed as I have got older and glad we still have a royal family.

The boys are the future and it has been a delight to watch them grow up and how their adult lives have panned out. I am a big fan of Wills, Kate and their children as well as Harry so I love to read on how there lives are doing.

I love the face they are making their lives as normal as possible. Funnily enough I have Invictus; the road to the games on right now, with Prince Harry in. I firmly believe the young royals are why the family is loved and accepted.

Oh I digress as ever; Yes I love Kate. She has carved out her own destiny and role in The Royal family. Diana would have been envious (meaning in a loving not nasty way) yet very proud of how different it is for them today.

Kate looks stunning and just like the girl next door. Yes a very Jennifer Aniston type gal who is also a favourite of mine. Yes I will buy a copy of Vogue this month. It’s been ages since I have.

I am really pleased you covered this. Thank you Stella

  5. I often wonder if Kate can believe the life she now has! Must be an incredible feeling to follow the other Royals on the cover of Vogue. I actually think these pics are some of the more old fashioned I’ve seen her do. She’s certainly a style queen wherever she goes!
