This is Clinique Creamy Nude Lipstick is my very first Clinique Lipstick and also my very first nude lipstick. I got this lipstick sample from a Tanya Blur Glamour Magazine November 2015, and I must say I am very happy I got to try a nude lipstick for free and tell you all about it.
I love seeing nude lipsticks on ladies. I think it is a pretty lip colour but I never had the balls to try it. I always thought it would look weird on me because of my skin tone and I was so right. Before I dive into the review, here is what Clinique has to say about their ‘Pop Lip’ Lipstick range.
Luxurious yet weightless formula merges bold, saturated colour with a smoothing primer. Glides on effortlessly to a modern-velvet finish. Colour stays true, keeps lips comfortably moisturized for 8 hours. Allergy Tested. 100% Fragrance Free.
Here are my thoughts on this lipstick:
PROS
- I love the packaging a lot. I looks so pretty.
- I like the fact that it is a lipstick and a primer in 1.
- It moisturises my dry lips perfectly.
- I like the smooth texture.
- It is readily available in Debenhams, House of Fraser, Boots stores and many other stores for about £16.
CONS
- I don’t like the colour on me at all. It is a pinky nude and it doesn’t suit me.
- It is not long-lasting. Wears off pretty quickly.
Overall, I am not impressed with this lipstick at all. The shade is not for me. It gives me the ‘washed out’ look. I am also not happy with the staying power of the lipstick. It does not stay on long at all. I am happy I got to try this for free before buying as I have always wanted to try a nude lippie. There are many more colours in the Clinique Pop Lip Lipstick range, and a few of them do look nice. The Berry Pop, Passion Pop and the Cherry Pop look right up my street. Debenhams stocks the whole range, so may give them a go some day.
What do you think of this Clinique Nude Pop Lipstick & Primer? Have you tried any lipstick from Clinique’s Pop Lip range?
I really love Clinique make up. I think you need a stronger colour on you as I do agree it’s too pale
Yea I think a stronger colour from the collection would look nicer on me.
I am not a huge fan of Clinique make-up. Their skin care is wonderful but make-up simply doesn’t work for me very well.
Think I agree with you on that Agata.
I was lucky to find this as a sample in one of the magazines and I really like it. I am a huge fan of nudes tho 🙂
Ah lucky you Nikki.
I’m sorry this lipstick wasn’t for you because it looks so gorgeous !! Xo
Yea what a shame.
Too bad it’s not long lasting. I always associated the Clinique brand with my mum. She used to wear a lot of their products.
Ah nice..
I love Clinique products but I personally don’t like nude lipsticks cos i believe they are too pale for me. Bright colours of high quality to stay hours is my choice. Thanks for sharing.
Yea this was too pale..
I’ve never tried clinique make up I’ve tried a few of thecskuncare products though.
I definitely agree that a darker shade would suit u much better.
Yea. Thanks Joanna x
Love Clinique skincare but I have never tried the make-up before. My teen would love this x
I need to try their skincare.
No it is definitely not a colour for you. You can use deep colours. I can’t being fair skinned.I use a Lipcote which helps keep my lipstick in place as I find all with me come off to quickly if I don’t. It’s a liquid sealer. Thank you for the review.
Yea it isn’t. Thanks for reading…
ooops I think if it doesn’t last too much, maybe is not worth it! I recently got one lipstick from Guerlain that last hours and hours… actually you need to remove it with miscellar water or something similar lol I wrote a post about in case you want to check, it’s similar prize as the one you showed: http://www.wha2wear.com/summer-beauty-haul/ xx
Yea it isn’t in my eyes. I need to get the name of that lipstick..
Yeah, I remember you said you wanted to get nude lipstick.
Yes, I have tried the clinique lipsticks, they are not long lasting.
You said it is too pinky on you Stella, please try toning it down with a lip pencil. The Mac’s cork os good on our skin tone. I do hope it works for you then
Take care.
X
Yea they last only a few hours if at all…Thanks hun xo
I am a big fan of clinique make-up, looks like a fab colour
Ah nice Kara.
I have a few clinique lipsticks but I think I went for the wrong colours. I changed from red to pink for a change and I really wish I had got red after. Red for me next time, i think 🙂
I think a brighter colour would be better for me too.
The lipstick color is beautiful and I haven’t tried clinique make-up before although I am a makeup artist and should know more about it, their skincare is lovely but I am yet to try their makeup!
I need to try the skincare…
I usually stay away from nude lipsticks because I dont think they suit my tone and shame this one comes off easily
Yea this doesn’t..I will try another and decide..Maybe nudes are not for me.
Love the skincare range but haven’t tried the make up. I would like this colour as I do wear the lighter shades, shame it doesn’t last long though. x
Yea it doesn’t.
I got this one as well and I love it. It lasts ages and it’s a really lovely day to day shade, and I love how cute and tiny it is x
Ah nice. It is not for me.
I’ve never liked lipstick on a girl that comes off too quickly, I always feel like they should be built to last an evening!
Yea I agree Danny.
I think the thing with a great nude lippie is finding a shade that suits your skintone – I really struggle too as a lot make me look kind of grey and dead… Not a good look!

Yea I thought it would good on me.
I see what you mean it looks more like a frosted 90’s style pink than a nude lippie.
Yea it does.
Looks such a lovely colour, I don’t wear alot of lipstick personally. However this could change that. I’ve seen so many fantastic samples in magazines lately.
Yea there are so many cool samples in magazines these days.
