It is a pleasant surprise to see Britney Spears as the cover girl for Marie Claire UK October 2016 issue I can see Britney is trying to make a comeback. I have been seeing and hearing a lot of her in the last month and I am happy to see her doing good again. I was a huge fan of Britney growing up. I enjoyed majority of her songs and I thought she was really cute but my feelings towards her and her music has changed in the last couple of years. But I am happy to see her doing her thing.

After a 3 year stint in Las Vegas, Britney Spears has made a fantastic return to the charts this month with her album Glory, currently on the number 1 spot on the charts. In her interview with Marie Claire’s writer – Louise Gannon, Britney talked about her love life, how she struggled with being famous and how comfortable she feels now that she is a mother. Here are some quotes from the interview –

Finding fame early – ‘I moved to Los Angeles when I was very young’ she said, ‘I was so under scrutiny. If a hair was out-of-place, I’d be so anxious. I would get very anxious about so many things.’

Motherhood – Becoming a mother and being with my boys [ Jayden, 9, Sean Preston, 10] has made me so much more accepting of myself. I’m their mom, whatever. That has been a really big thing for me over these last few years.’

Dating – I had a really bad date’, she told us, ‘I mean, it was really bad. I’ve been single for ages and had a date with a guy I liked. I was getting anxious, worrying he wouldn’t like me. In the evening I got on the scales and I had lost six pounds.’ [She continues] ‘We went to the movies, but I could tell right away it wasn’t working. It was sort of awkward. So after the movie I came home and that was it. It just didn’t work […] He just wasn’t that into me. I liked him. He knew that. But he definitely didn’t feel the same. It happens to everybody. Being famous doesn’t make you any different.’

I like the cover. I would have preferred a not so serious pose, but it ticks all the boxes. I would love to read this issue and play catch up on Britney Spears’ life. It would be nice to know what she has really been up to all these years. The other features on the cover also sound very interesting. I am particularly interested in the Fashion Special article.

What do you thin of this Marie Claire cover? Are you a fan of Britney Spears?

  1. I think Britney looks stunning in the cover photo – you can also get a sense that she does feel comfortable in her self. Loved her little story about her disaster date – I think sometimes we forget that celebrities also have to deal with the crap everyone else does. Good luck to her – seems like life is going well for her right now!

  2. I have a real soft spot for Britney. She doesn’t give a fig what anyone thinks. I admire a strong woman like that. She does her own thing. She found fame at a very young age and that would be tough for anyone, so credit to her that she has come through it and is now making a comeback. Tx

  3. Wow! Great to see her looking like this. She has had some hard times as we all have.

Those hard time being played out by the media in the public eye makes them worse for me.

The cover is surprising. I kind of like it though. It’s different and clearly showing another side to Britney.

I don’t think it has enough to make me stop and pick it up in a newsagent if it was my first time of seeing on a ooh look at that grab quick glance

Though it does grab .my attention it’s in a more studying way if that makes sense. If I was browsing the shelves I would be more likely to pick this up.

  4. I’ll ALWAYS have a soft spot for Britney Spears. Yes her vocals are a tad weak but in her prime, you couldn’t mess with her performance/energy, have you seen her Vegas show back in the day. I really like her album Britney and I LOVE her album Blackout.
As for the album cover, considering she’s Britney Bitch its a Meh from me, its lacklustre and why in ze hell is she so buttoned up, they could have made the military look sexier… ( :
