OOTD: Wedding Guest Outfit

You don’t want to know how old this dress I am wearing is, you really don’t. It is older than Fashion and Style Police (going to be 4 in October, whoop whoop), and it is older than many other pieces in my wardrobe. I was pleasantly surprised to see I could still fit right into it. Quality speaks without saying a word, and that is why I like to spend that bit extra on my pieces so they can last for as long as I need them to. I also take good care of my clothes as well, and I guess the extra care adds to the lifetime of the pieces.

I wore this outfit some days ago. I have a wedding to attend and I needed to shop my closet for wedding worthy pieces to style, so these pieces came to mind. The dress is an oldie as you all know by now, but the navy blue fascinator is not. It was sent some days ago, and I am happy to say I will be wearing it to the wedding. It is my first ever fascinator and I adore it. I also found it super comfy, I always thought fascinators would be uncomfortable because they do look like a bit of work to have on your head all day, but I found this so light and easy to wear.

The black bolero jacket is another newbie. I got it some days ago for the wedding and I am crazy in love with it as well. I love the sleeves, silk material and the fact that it is so dressy.

  1. This is really gorgeous. I will this any day to a wedding. I love the combination and it really suits you. I love the facinator and bolero fits in properly. You are hot girl. Beautiful

  2. That dress looks amazing on you, no matter the age! And you are so right, it always pays to invest in good clothes (especially timeless/classic pieces) when you can, because they always last longer! I do love fascinators and the one you’re wearing goes well with the dress too 🙂

  3. You look fabulous Stella. My eldest got married recently. One or two people looked at me daft when I told them the outfit colours, as my outfit included some black. It finished it off seamlessly.

I wore a coral red dress with a coral red and black fascinator by Paul Smith Top hat range. I also had a little wrap type top similar to yours and grey/black shoes. Finished off with a black parasol and lace black gloves.

I am so relieved to see someone else who will use black in a style for a wedding. It looked perfect together however did think I was on my own for using black in a wedding outfit.

    Go rock that wedding gal

  4. This truly is a perfect outfit for a wedding! I love the dress and I really love the Bolero Jacket! You look lovely. The dress really suits you and it’s good to know it’s light and easy to wear 🙂 xx

  5. I love your dress! So happy to see you wearing white. I have a wedding tomorrow and my dress is white with flowers and was having a panic in case I offended the bride! I am starting to relax more now, thanks for this!
