Zoella Covers Cosmopolitan UK November 2016

The Youtube superstar – Zoella (real name Zoe Sugg), is the cover girl for Cosmopolitan Magazine UK November 2016 issue. I can clearly see myself grabbing a copy of this issue. I would love to read about Zoella’s secret life. I have heard and read a lot about her but I am always up to read some more about any influential social media star. I must confess, I have never watched any of her YouTube videos, but I have read her blog a few times, so I would love to know more about her.

Here are some excerpts from her interview with Cosmo:

On her struggle with anxiety –

“I have had anxiety since before I started doing this,” she explains. “I think it changes and adapts with your life. I have a therapist who I speak to every week without fail and that’s been the biggest help because I’m now doing things that I never thought I’d be able to do.”

On wellbeing –

“I’m one of those people who thinks everyone should have a therapist. People go to the gym, they eat healthily and visit the hairdressers but no one really looks after their mind.”

On her dream –

“My dream is to be able to just hop on the train one day and come back again, and I know I’ll get to that point but up until then I have to take lots of little baby steps. One of my big things is to visit Australia and New Zealand. That’s my main goal.”

The interview sounds like a fab read. The other articles sound fab too, and I can’t wait to get my hands on this issue. However I am not a fan of the cover at all. It looks “too photoshopped” and I am not a fan of the entire look.

What do you think of this Cosmo cover? Will you be buying this issue? Do sound off in the comments section below.

Thanks for reading and have a lovely week.

  1. I agree with you about the cover – it seems very posed and artificial. Much prefer the funnier one of her holding her pigtails – that seems more like her true persona. I don’t know who this lady is, but I bet my kids do! Good on her for facing her fears and battling her anxiety!

  2. I’m a huge Zoella fan! I found this article interesting and her struggle with anxiety – I can relate to! Zoe looks so different on that cover, it seems a little fake (I still adore Zoe though!). I actually watched her vlog on this and her hair extensions are amazing!

  3. I used to watch Zoella’s videos when I was younger and she was so much inspired by everything! But now that I have grown up, I have stopped watching her videos! She still aims at the younger generation! But she’s a beautiful woman who has grown so much over the years!

  4. I have to admit I have watched her videos and I haven’t been a massive fan. That being said I like how open she is about her struggles with anxiety and its great that she has a therapist.

  5. I love Zoe so much, and she’s just so beautiful on her own, was all that photoshop really needed? She looks almost distorted, I didn’t even recognise her at first :/ But she’s got such a valid point on getting a therapist, I’ll be the first to admit I definitely haven’t given my mental health the proper looking after, and like Zoe, have battled anxiety for years. So glad someone so influential to my age group is speaking out on the importance of mental health xx

  6. I love Zoe, she turned a little channel into an empire. Also is so amazing she talks about mental health and tries to bring awareness to it. Can’t wait to get my copy. x

  7. I’ll definitely be buying this magazine. I love Zoella. Her anxiety videos bought her to my attention many years ago when I too was having attacks.. She has helped bring so much awareness of it to the public and she is walking proof that you shouldn’t let it stop you from achieving your dreams. x

  8. Stella, I am actually jumping up and down right now. You know we talked about a Blogger being on the cover of one of this magazines and here it is happening. WOW!
Get ready girl, you are next.
I love the thing about taking care of the mind. Very scriptural too. ha!

  9. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I can’t believe a social media star is gracing the front of a magazine. Sooooo interesting. I agree on your thoughts about the cover, it could have been so much better and a lot less photoshopped. But, like you said the articles look good. I would be really interested to see what she has to say, given that she is a voice of the millenial generation and, if you like, the first wave of social media celebrity. Thanks! 🙂
