Christmas Shopping Tips

Have you started your Christmas Shopping yet? I have. I know many of you may think it is too early to start shopping for Christmas in October but I disagree. I think this is the best time to start. I have started my Christmas Shopping because I like to get my shopping sorted before the crazy Christmas rush starts. And starting early means I can take my time and shop smart. All I need to worry about is where to hide all the gifts, so my kids don’t find them, lol.

I have previously mentioned shopping tips in an older post so I am not going to bore you by repeating them. But here are some Christmas shopping tips that have worked for me –

Shopping in a big mall

I like to shop in big shopping malls where I can get all I need in 1 go. Liverpool One is one of the biggest shopping malls around me, and it is one of my favourite places to go. It houses some of my favourite shops and restaurants. So I get to eat some delicious food at amazing restaurants whilst shopping. There are so many of my favourite restaurants in Liverpool, so I am usually spoilt for choice. I usually stop for a quick coffee, some cake and an all day breakfast bloomer toastie at a coffee shop whilst shopping. Then have a proper lunch in a fancy restaurant after my shopping has been completed. I do look forward to my shopping days (when I am alone) because I go all out!

Go for bargains

Starting my Christmas shopping early means I can make the most of the bargains and deals in stores. At the moment, there are so many offers going on with good discounts, it would be silly to miss out. And with my growing children that keep growing by the minute, I am always on the lookout for bargains. So I advise you keep your eyes and ears open too.

Get gift receipts

Do not forget to get gift receipts for gifts you buy, just incase they need to be returned or exchanged.

Have a list and budget

Having a list and a budget goes without saying but many people go shopping without them, so it is worth mentioning. It keeps you focused. Spending cash instead of using your bank cards might also help, as it is a lot harder for most of us to part with real life cash.

  1. This is surely the best time, especially in Nigeria where i live. Everything will become so expensive towards December lol.

  2. ”Grins” that late to start shopping for me. I shop from January – October end. Then have November and December off. I then start again in the sales with Christmas cards, paper and so on.

Alot of the things I buy are staples each year as stocking fillers, before the main present so that is how I can most of it done.

I save loads as not paying Christmas prices. I get time as you say to enjoy the festivities. Even my food shopping has been bought the last 3 years online. I have a delivery pass for my online shopping supermarket so I get early order, which I can edit up to the week before.

Christmas cards written and ready to go. Already started the Christmas baking. The joy of freezers. Been doing Christmas for 31 years so a tad experienced now. LOL.

Also Christmas for us is about the whole month of seeing family from the first weekend in December, meeting up with my brothers and family who are available to do the Lincoln market is a yearly tradition now.

  3. Oh god no its not too early I actually feel like its a bit late to start now!! I freak out and panic though as this time of year for us is full of birthdays not to mention mine and my husbands are SO CLOSE to christmas (i’m 3 days before and hes a few days after) you have to be loaded to enjoy this time of year stress free!!

  4. I haven’t really started mine yet. I’ve got a couple of pieces but thats about it. Usually I’m almost done by now but with saving for a house I’ve not even thought about it! xxx

  5. I couldn’t agree more with having a budget and a list/plan. I sit down and plan for everyone before I even consider setting foot in a mall. I don’t plan so much for the kids, I have a budget and we know a few bigger things they want but I tend to always over do it for them.

  6. I haven’t properly started yet but this has made me want to. I’ve been trying to get halloween out the way first before I think about it! I suppose I should start looking just in case I see something!

  7. I’m one of those crazy people who loves Christmas shopping! I love the crowds and the atmosphere, until it gets stressful.
