Fun Ways to Keep Fit

Keeping fit is good for the body and soul, and it can be fun as well. Since having my babies, I am always on the lookout for fun and convenient ways to keep fit. Gone are the days when I could go spend hours at the gym. Time and money are so precious and life is so busy, so going to the gym is not even an option. I would never have the time to do that.

Being a work from home mother means I have had to think outside the box to keep my fitness life active, and so far, I am doing a great job I believe. I have also discovered ways I could keep fit without disrupting our routine, and keep it fun as well.

Some of the fun ways I keep fit are –

Walking

I love the school run because it gets me out of the house and helps me smash my daily target of 10,000 steps easily. Also, I love walking with the kids on their scooters. It keeps them happy and keeps me fit, so it’s a win-win for us all!

Running

I also enjoy running on some days when I can. Running with some cool music on makes me feel alive and well. I love the adrenaline rush I get from running. It makes me feel alive.

Workout Videos

I love workout videos. I find them very convenient and I think it is a fun way to work out and keep fit from home. I have a few videos I watch regularly on YouTube, and the workout routines are so good.

Running Around with the Kids

Running around with the kids in the garden is another fun way to keep fit. Chasing after a ball or just running round aimlessly helps me burn some calories, keeps me fit and keeps them happy and drained, which is good. You should try it.

So these are some of the fun ways I keep fit. Do you do any of these? Please sound off in the comments section below.

Thanks for reading and have a happy Easter.

  1. I used to struggle finding ways to keep fit when Ellie was younger, this would have been great for me then! Now she’s older I can leave her for an hour and go to the gym and we often still go for walks together.

  2. I must confess I have been off my fitness game for the last couple of months or more and these ideas reminded me I don’t always have to go to he gym to keep fit

  3. Yes I do dance and Zuma through You tube. Though have been off beam with it the last 6 months due to personal family health issues taking up alot of time with my hubby.

Need to get back into a proper routine with this so your post is very timely. I use Refit on You Tube. They have loads of stuff. Really funky and fun.

My favourite of there’s is the Good Morning song set to there dancing. Loads of them. What I like about home fitness is if you have disabilities like I do I can fit it to me where’s with an exercise class you can’t as one size has to fit all.

They are a Christian fitness group who are taking exercise around the world and The U.S. I have built my own bookmark of there dance and Zuma. They even have exercise routines set up for Christmas with Christmas songs. They are brilliant

  4. I love keeping in shape with fitness videos. Myself and Mr. C also do yoga a few evenings a week… it helps us keep in shape and keeps us connected as a couple! I like taking a Pilates class every fortnights as well!

  5. I mostly walk to keep me healthy and fit. It is the easiest and without any cost way which most of the time we ignore and then hit the gym to run 🙂 Loved your tips

  6. My favorite way to keep fit is definitely workout videos at home. With two little kids and living way out in the boonies, going to a gym is not very feasible. I love being able to work out in the comfort and privacy of my own home. Plus, it saves me a ton of money! 🙂 My favorites are TurboFire and anything Jillian Michaels.

  7. After recently seeing how much I weigh and knowing that I have put on a few pounds, I think I need to dust off my old bike. I always loved ridding my bike, it also helped me maintain my OLD weight. ./cry…. Great post…

  8. The school run and housework are definitely my 2 ways of keeping fit 🙂 my partner walks the dog and does a lot in the garden (chopping logs, building walls etc)

  9. Getting an activity tracker can make getting your fitness on into a game too. I have an Apple Watch and you close your rings one for stand hours, one for calories and one for exercise minuets too. I’m certain Fitbit, Garmin and probably others have something similar.
