If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, then you would know I am currently in Dubai with the family for a summer vacation. We got here some days ago. It has been lovely so far. We have a huge apartment to ourselves at the lovely DoubleTree by Hilton Jumeirah Beach, with an amazing view and a private beach! I couldn’t ask for anything more. It is a perfect home away from home with huge rooms, a washing machine, massive fridge/freezer, kitchen, everything!
Coming from good old Cheshire, with the summer weather reaching a maximum of 30 degrees on a good hot day, Dubai’s weather reaching above 40 degrees is something. It is a good change from what we are used to so we are trying to make the most of it.
I am planning to hit the beach later today with kiddies and have been sorting out my swimwear essentials. I did a lot of holiday shopping before we took off, so we could come prepared. I rarely have the opportunity to rock a good bikini in a 40 degrees weather, so I went all out shopping for some luxury ladies swimwear and some other summer beach holiday essentials.
I shopped Fat Face for the first time, and I got the hat and slippers, which have been so useful. I also got some last-minute suncream at a Boots shop because I forgot to carry mine.
I love Dubai so much. This is my third time visiting this amazing country, I was here last December for Christmas, and I know I would be visiting again. It is one of those countries you just don’t get tired of, for me anyway.
We will be visiting another country in the Middle East in the next few days before heading home, so it is going to be a chilled but busy week. I will be posting as regular as I can but the timing may be a little different, so look out.

I would love to visit Dubai but don’t do very well with extreme temperatures. Hopefully we will get there soon
It is a lot cooler from November to April I believe.

What a view you have. I have never visited Dubai but it is one of my bucket list places to visit. I am not sure I could handle the heat though to be honest – I struggle with the British summer! haha. x
It is a lot cooler between November and February, so you could try visiting then.
I have never been to Dubai but everyone I know RAVES about it! I’m not sure if it’s the kind of place we would take our four children, they are still so young and it strikes me as more suited to adults?
My kids are 3 and I think it is a great place for kids. There are lots to do in Dubai with the family.

This hotel sounds good for families as it offers an element of self catering with the benefits of a hotel.

Dubai is somewhere I’d like to visit at some point although I do worry about all their customs etc. Hope you have a great holiday
I am having a blast! You shouldn’t worry about the customs. You should be fine..
I think the heat is different to that we have in the UK so it doesn’t feel as hot because you are expecting it. I have been to Turkey when the temp was over 40 but the weather here feels hotter somehow
