Still on the Middle East mini tour, after spending a week in Dubai, we went off to spend a weekend in Muscat, Oman. We have friends over there, so it was nice to catch up and explore the lovely city. Muscat is a beautiful conservative city. It is nothing as fancy as Dubai, but it is worth a visit if you are around the area.
We stayed over at Raddison Blu hotel, which was fab. We were hardly ever in the hotel because we were too busy trying to see the entire city in 48 hours, but the room was dead comfy when we needed it.
Muscat was very warm, it was over 38 degrees most of the time, but not as warm as Dubai. The kids had an amazing time. We visited many child friendly parks, one of them being Funtazmo in Oman Avenues Mall. It is the largest indoor family amusement centre in Oman. There were all sorts of games and rides, to keep the adults and children busy. We had a lovely time there.
It was 1 ride after the other for us. There was no dull moment here at Funtazmo, the kiddies didn’t want to leave. I even got on a few rides myself, screaming my lungs out as usual!
After spending a few hours here at the mall, we visited a few other shopping malls, markets, restaurants and the famous Al Qurum Natural Park (all in 48 hours). We visited the park at night, and got on even more rides with the kids. It was an amazing experience I would never forget.
I was too busy with the rides to remember to take some photos at the Al Qurum Natural Park, but the memories will stay with me forever!
Have you visited Muscat in Oman? Do you have any summer holidays planned? Please sound off in the comments section below. Thanks for reading.
I have never even thought of visiting Oman before, It sounds like you had a great time there in such a short space of time xx
It is a lovely place xx
It’s interesting to learn about this area as I don’t know very much about it. I’m pleased you had such a great time x
Thanks x
Sounds amazing! I’d probably find the heat too much, I’m typically fair skinned Irish so I don’t cope well with intense heat. You make Oman sound very appealing though 🙂
It is.
I have not visited Oman and have no idea how accessible it would be for a wheelchair user but I do love following your travels.
Glad you do. Thanks for reading.
I haven’t visited Oman but my mum’s friend used to live/work there so I have a lot of letters from there, as she used to write to me when I was little, to encourage me to read.
I’d love to visit. Perhaps in the cooler months because I’d like to see something of the outdoors and not just stay in air conditioned buildings (however amazing they are).
It is a lovely place. It is cooler at the end of the year, so definitely worth visiting then.
Been to Dubai for my birthday celebration. I guess I missed out Oman, maybe on my next travel I will definitely check must visit places in Oman too.
Yea pls do. Hope you had a nice time in Dubai! I love that place.
Wow funtasmo looks great fun. My kids would love that.

Ah nice!
This looks like so much fun and definitely one that my little guy would enjoy! He loves the arcade when we go away!
I bet he would love this place..
This sounds like the perfect destination for anyone that wants to get away from the standard Spanish package holiday!
Yes it is..
Looks like the kids had fun (and you too if no time for pics!) I bet the UK weather is a huge let down now you’re home!
Yes it is. Raining at the moment.
Hope you enjoyed your time there especially the children.
Do take care.
X
