Eye Test and New Glasses from M&S Opticians

Some weeks ago, I had the lovely opportunity to get an eye test and a free pair of glasses from the new M&S Opticians Store in Manchester. I am short-sighted so I always have my contact lenses on. But on some days, I like to wear my glasses. Prior to my eye test with M&S Opticians Manchester, I had my last eye test a year ago. So this opportunity came at the right time.

M&S Opticians Booking Service

M&S Opticians have this great booking system which I used to book my eye test. It is pretty straight forward. All you have to do is to select the closest store on list, and then you can book the exact day and date you want. My booking was confirmed via email within minutes. The booking service is very effective service.

The Eye Test

I had my eye test on Saturday. The service was quick and efficient. I was greeted by the very helpful staff. A qualified optometrist performed the eye test. She was very thorough and patient, explaining every step of the eye test as we went along. There were two parts to the eye test. The first part was the screen eye test and then the traditional eye test was performed.

The lovely optometrist was answered all my questions and also gave me some eye care tips for using my contact lenses which I wear almost everyday. I now know the importance of taking my contact lenses out before I go for a swim or take a shower. Showering or swimming with contact lenses exposes the contact lenses to infections, so it is best to get them off before taking shower or going for a swim. Did you know that?

The whole appointment took an hour. I got my result and went on to pick a new pair of glasses. There were so many glasses to pick from. I didn’t know where to start from. There were many M&S branded glasses to pick from for women, men and children. There are also designer glasses to pick from, in various shapes, sizes and colours. The high quality glasses start from £40, so there should be a pair for everyone. I had a hard time deciding on the frame I wanted. They were all so lovely.

My New Glasses

I finally opted for a Vera Wang pair. I fell in love with the beautiful frame and just had to have it. The chic look caught my eye as soon as I spotted it. I got a text informing me of the my glasses being ready a week after the eye test which was great. The fast service was quite impressive. I picked up my new glasses last Saturday and I have worn it many times already. It is the right fit and it suits my face perfectly. I can also see clearly wearing them with no headaches at all which is brilliant. My last pair of glasses always left me with a bad headache so I am happy I don’t have to deal with any of that with this new pair.

I strongly recommend M&S Opticians. The service was amazing and I will definitely be using them again.

What do you think of my new pair of glasses? Have you spotted an M&S Opticians store?

*I was gifted an eye test and a pair of prescription glasses for the purpose of this review. All photos and words are mine as always.

  1. I am not sure there is an M&S Optician in my area. We see a local area eye care doctor. Eye tests are great to get because eye health is important. Your new glasses are very nice. I’m like you, I prefer my contacts, but sometimes like to wear my glasses, too.

  2. I’ve never heard of these opticians, but it looks like they have a good business model and many options for their patients. I’m just the opposite from you, where I’ve never worn contacts, but started wearing glasses several years ago. I have my everyday glasses for my up close work, as well as progressive lenses.
