Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a lovely holiday. We had a blast here! I hope the year 2019 would be amazing in all areas of our lives. We started the new year in a big way with a captivating circus show. I can’t wait to tell you guys all about it but first, let me tell you all about our stay at Premier Inn Festival Park Basildon Essex.
Our Premier Inn Festival Park Basildon Essex Experience
We have stayed at this hotel many times but I never got the chance to write about it. I decided to change that this year. We spent 2 nights at this Premier Inn in Basildon and we have done so several times. The hotel location is easy to find and well situated with lots to eat and do around. It is a few mins walk away from a retail park with a cinema, club, bars and restaurants, so no dull moment here. The check in was quick and our room was on the ground floor which was good.
I was happy with the room space. We booked a family room with 2 individual beds for the kids and another king sized bed for us and I was glad we still had some room to keep our luggage.
My Honest Thoughts
Our stay at this Premier Inn was ok overall. The rooms were properly cleaned and the TV and WIFI worked great. I have stayed in so many hotels that struggle with the simplest things so it was great to see this didn’t. The Premier Inn Bedding is also loved by us. I think it is super comfy and I love sleeping on their beds. The only issue we had was with the heating. We were shocked to find out the heating was not working in our ground floor room.
With the drop in temperature, I was shocked I had to bring this to the attention of the receptionist. She did provide two little heaters which she wheeled into our rooms (you can see one of them in the picture above). The heaters worked ok but it was annoying to have to keep manually switching it off and on. It was an inconvenience that we shouldn’t have had to deal with and I hope they sort it out asap.
I don’t see myself returning here again. They have no air conditioning, so we won’t be able to stay here in the summer months and with the inconvenient heating arrangement, we won’t be visiting in the cold months either. I like comfort in hotels. If I have to struggle to get the basic amenities after parting with money, it makes me really grumpy. Having said that, I have stayed in some amazing Premier Inns and will be reviewing them when next I get the opportunity.

We love staying at Premier Inns as their rooms are always so clean and tidy. Sounds like a good stay in a great location x
The rooms are always really clean and tidy xx
I always find premier inn the best of the budget hotels, so comfortable
Yea they are good.
Beautiful photos I love the idea of a good night’s sleep being guaranteed! Lol.
Thanks Liz.
Never stayed in this hotel before, but judging from the photos you’ve shared the place must be quite okay~! Thanks for sharing =D
It was ok. Thanks for reading.
Yeah, I do agree! After parting with your money, you shouldnt be inconvenienced at all! That’s why you’ve stayed in a hotel! Oh well, haven’t experienced premiere and I don’t think I would be going any time soon!
Yes. It was very annoying.
Oh my goodness Stella, yes providing comfort should be the number one priority of any hotel so they definitely didn’t get the basics right there then! Better luck next time. (And HOW cute are your kids?!)
I was shocked they struggled to provide one of the main essentials this time of the year. Thanks for stopping by.
That looks really good. The amenities sound really great. Great review and it seems that you really had an awesome time.
Yes we did 😊
This must be an amazing place to stay.I lovr the color of the bathroom tiles by the way. So beautiful and unusual.
Yes it is a beauty.
No air conditioning?? Oh god that would be a rule breaker for me definitely! It’s a shame it wasn’t up to their usual standard.
It was a big shame.
I haven’t stayed in this hotel yet. The world needs more bloggers like you! It’s great that you also point out the cons. Good to know!
Thank you 😊
This hotel looks good, and oh boy there is a tub! More reason for me to stay here in case 🙂
Glad your babies had an enjoyable stay.
Hotels with a tub are good 😊
Premier Inn are okay but not the greatest in my opinion. But it’s good value for money to be fair
They are generally good. This particular location is my issue.
I have never stayed in this hotel, but I appreciate the way you share your thoughts. It’s nice to have clean rooms, WiFi etc, but I feel like what makes the hotel exceptional is attention to the details, and based in your reviews – this hotel has lack of it.
Yes I agree. This particular hotel lacks attention to detail.
One of the last times I used a Premier Inn I had an issue with the shower. It was impossible to change temperature on it so it was constantly boiling hot. When I left the bathroom after the shower it was like I was walking out on Stars In Their Eyes…and I set the fire alarm off because of the steam. Memories!
Oh my 😂
Honestly, I don’t see how a hotel these days could exist without having any air conditioning. That would be awful. And you are right, impossible to stay in during the summer months.
I find it funny that a hotel in 2019 won’t have air conditioning. Crazy times.
All these pictures are lovely … but we have to say we most certainly see why you would not return
Yea 😊
