7 Accessorizing Tips You Should Consider for Your Style

*Collaborative post.

These accessorizing tips are so important. When it comes to styling the perfect outfit, there’s nothing like a few good accessories. Accessories can make or break your entire ensemble, and there are countless ways you can dress any style up with a bit of curated accessorizing. The great thing about the art of accessorizing is that this is where brand labels can be tossed in the win and creativity reigns supreme. No matter what your personal style is, you can use accessories to accentuate it.  Here are 10 accessorizing tips for you to consider:

Statement Earrings

Statement earrings are extremely versatile: use it to add a pop of glamour to a formal outfit, or to dress up a simple, laid-back outfit. Mostly, though, statement earrings are used to bring an added dose of sophistication and attention to a particular style. Whether you opt for chunky diamond studs, large gold hoop earrings, or glistening raindrop earrings, there’s no doubt about it: a pair of statement earrings can bring sparkle and attention to your face and outfit. Throw in Some Gold

Let’s face it: who doesn’t love the elegant glamour of gold? No matter what your style is, gold always delivers. Whether you prefer yellow gold, rose gold, or brass gold, there’s an endless amount of combinations. Sometimes, subtlety works better with gold pieces, while other times, it deserves to be the center of attention. What’s most important is that you have fun and incorporate gold that matches your personality. For instance, over at Gold Urban, you can find gold emoji pendants that are equally as stylish as they are clever and fun.

Mix Up Your Materials

Creating a combination of materials creates a wonderful texturing style that’s unique to your look. For instance, why not pair a sleek, modern outfit with vintage accessories? The same applies for the other way around: a vintage-style retro shorts and top would pair well with up-to-date jewelry.

Add Color to a Blank Canvas

One of the best things about accessories is that you don’t need a new wardrobe to create new looks with the same clothes. Your black tops and dress and white tops and dresses can always be updated with eye-catching pops of color. Let’s think about that little black dress that so many women have stashed away in their closet. A pair of standout red heels and lipstick can easily transform it. Bright colors, like lime green, yellow, neon orange all achieve the same results, too.

It’s Not Just About Jewelry

When we think about accessories, we tend to think of jewelry. But accessories encompass so much more than jewelry: other types of accessories you should be thinking about include purses and handbags, sunglasses, hats, headbands, and belts. Each of these can play a role in your overall look, and shouldn’t be forgotten when you’re styling your outfit. For example, if you’ve decided on a nice summer dress, why not pair it with a great sun hat that captures the essence of your dress, as well as the spirit of the summer?

Be Wary of Proportions

Understanding your proportions is important. If you’re wearing an outfit on the voluminous side—like a puffy dress—then it’s best to opt for muted, simple jewelry and accessories. On the other hand, if you wear something simple and sleek, it makes more sense to opt for colorful, big, and bold accessories.

Layer Your Bracelets

Stacked bangles are a fairly popular trend in the world of accessories. This layered style creates a textured look that be supremely elegant, bohemian chic, and anything in between. When you pair different bracelets and wrist wear together, you can create an endless stream of looks; no matter what you’re going for, it’s very easy to mix and match for different occasions.

A good way to start is by picking a solid focal point for your stack of bracelets. This could be a watch, a leather bracelet, a charm bracelet, a metal cuff bracelet, and much more. The focal piece will be emphasized, while the other bracelets will accentuate it. You can also add accent bracelets that don’t exactly match, but help incorporate a different material and a touch of creativity. For example, your accent bracelets might be a stack of simple silver bangles.

  1. Not a fan of having accessories but tried having bracelets. It was nice but I felt so awkward having it hehe

  2. I love bangles! They are my favorite accessories. I have 7 ear piercings, 2 of which are cartilage piercings but I don’t wear stud earrings on them anymore. I guess I am too old for that. But I love layering bracelets and wearing my favorite charm bracelet too.

  3. Bangles are nice, I love wearing 3 of it, but I always prefer bangles that are not so thick. 😊 It looks nice.

  4. I love wearing bracelets. I hardly did layering. The one in the pic looks great. I agree accessories meaning is more than jewelery thing.

  5. No bracelets cos small wrists but I love my statement earring and cocktail rings as well as chains, beads and lockets.
