Beauty Muse – Beverly Naya

Hey Beauties! I can’t believe it is August already. How did July end so quickly? Where is the year going? In other news, the stunning Beverly Naya is the beauty muse for August on Fashion and Style Police. The talented British-Nigerian actress has been on my radar for some time now. I love watching her movies; she is a great actress and she does a fantastic job interpreting her roles. This beauty recently produced a documentary on Netflix titled “Skin.” The documentary explores colourism which is the discrimination of people based on their skin shades. I am looking forward to watching “Skin” at some point this weekend. It has been on my list of what to watch for some weeks now.

Colourism is a big issue in Africa, especially in Nigeria. Many men and women feel they have to lighten their skin to look beautiful. Most of them grow up hating their dark skin tone and end up going down the skin bleaching route to look lighter. I am happy to see more and more awareness is being raised about colourism. It is usually buried underneath racism, that people forget it is a huge problem in the African and Asian communities.

Back to the beautiful Beverly Nada, I think she has amazing skin. Her skin glows every time I see her. I am also a huge fan of her makeup. It was always so flawless.

Her skincare routine

My skincare routine is quite simple. I just literally drink lots of water and lots of fruit as well, specifically oranges because they have a high level of citrus.

I guess I need to eat some more oranges. With skincare, the simpler they are, the better the results usually.

“It’s very good for the skin if you want to detox. I use cocoa butter, shea butter, and coconut oil. I wash and cleanse my face twice a day, it’s very important.”

Washing and cleansing the face twice a day is really important. I love using coconut oil as well. It is such a great multitasking product.

What do you think of Naya as a Beauty Muse?
