Here are 5 ways you could get rid of your ingrown hairs –

Laser hair removal treatment

Having a laser hair removal treatment will reduce the ingrown hairs as the treatment uses laser light pulses to destroy hair follicles. If you are dealing with hairs growing in areas you rather they don’t and ingrown hairs, you should consider having this treatment done. I have had 6 sessions of laser hair removal treatment and it is so worth it.

Exfoliate regularly

You should aim to exfoliate at least once a week. This will get rid of dead skin, excess oil and stop the skin from clogging. Dead skin cells clog the skin and this clogging can force hairs to grown sideways, which will lead to ingrown hairs. So exfoliating regularly will stop this from happening, as there won’t be a build up of dead skin cells.

Don’t squeeze

If you do find yourself dealing with ingrown hairs, make sure you don’t feel tempted to squeeze. That would only make it worse and it could lead to a bacteria infection. The best thing to do with ingrown hairs when you have them is to leave them alone. They usually disappear within a few days if left alone.

5 Things you need to know before getting laser hair removal treatment image

Use a hair removal cream

Using a hair removal cream can help prevent ingrown hairs. Shaving tends to trigger ingrown hairs the most when compared with other hair removal processes because the hair grows back with a sharper edge and easy to grow back into the skin when you shave.

Take care of your skin

Taking care of your skin prevents many skin problems including ingrown hairs. Using the right cleanser, makeup remover, body wash, moisturiser, and so on, helps your skin stay healthy. You should pay special attention to your skin after shaving, threading, waxing or after a hair removal treatment as usually the treated area is always sensitive after the hair removal process.

These are a few ways of dealing with ingrown hairs. They are best avoided but sometimes you may find a couple regardless of how careful you are. The only way to completely avoid ingrown hairs is to let the hairs be. Don’t shave, laser off, wax or thread. This isn’t possible for many of us to do, which is why we have to pick the best way to get rid of unwanted hairs and reduce the chances of dealing with ingrown hairs.

How to avoid getting blackheads

Blackheads are frustrating to get rid off. It is a lot easier to avoid getting them to begin with. Here are ways you could avoid getting blackheads –

Avoid products that encourage sebum production

Many skincare products can encourage excessive sebum production which can cause blackheads, so it is best to avoid these kind of products. Skincare products with ingredients like alcohol, peppermint, menthol, lemon, lime or eucalyptus, are the main culprits, so it is best to stay away from products that include any of them.

You need to check and be happy with every ingredient in your skincare product before you use it. That way you are sure the skincare product is right for your skin.

Do not scrub

Scrubbing your face could lead to many skin issues include blackheads. So it is best to avoid using a sponge o  your face. If you must use a sponge, you should opt for a very soft sponge or face cloth.

Also, many people believe blackheads/whiteheads and other skin issues can be scrubbed away and this so not true. Blackheads are too deep in the pores, which is why they can not be scrubbed away. Scrubbing would only irritate the skin further.

Use a clay mask

I use a clay mask every week and I love how it leaves my skin looking smooth and supple. Using a clay mask every week does wonders for the skin. It is a great way of ensuring your skin stays healthy and beautiful.

Clay masks work by retrieving dirt and oil from the pores, which removes clogged pores, that can cause blackheads. Using a clay mask on a weekly basis is an amazing ways to nourish your skin.

Wipe the makeup off

Make sure you wipe off every trace of makeup before you sleep. Leaving makeup on overnight can clog your pores and cause blackheads. Which is why it is so important to wipe the makeup off with a makeup remover and cleanser before you fall asleep. You should never go to bed wearing makeup.

Use a light moisturiser

Using a light moisturiser helps if your skin is prone to acne. You should also check your sunscreen is a light version too so your pores don’t get clogged.

Beauty Tricks for the Lipstick

*Affiliate links.

The Lipstick is one of the most popular makeup products, and it is easy to see why it is so popular. It is one piece of makeup that can be easily applied quickly when you don’t have the time for anything else. The lipstick also has the power to instantly brighten up your face, and if you apply the right lipstick properly, it can create of illusion of your face looking more made up than it is.

The Origin of Lipsticks

Lipsticks first appeared over 5,000 years ago. Rumour has it that Cleopatra’s red lipsticks were made from finely crushed carmine beetle and ants’ eggs mixture. During the second world war, the ends of used lipsticks were collected and melted together to form new lipsticks for the women. Each woman had an average of 2 new lipsticks for the 5 year duration of the war.

Smart Lipstick Tricks Image

Lipsticks have the power to improve or ruin your overall look, so they are worth paying extra attention to. Here are some beauty tricks for the lipstick –

Pick the right lipstick shades

You need to ensure you go for the right shades of lipsticks. No point picking a nude lipstick if you are like me and nude doesn’t look good on you. You will end up looking washed out which is never a good look. Go for lipstick shades that complement your natural skin tone.

It can be tricky to get the right shades but my advice is to experiment with as many as possible until the find the brands, shades and textures that work for you.

I am currently loving these stunning lipsticks –

Get rid of dry skin on the lips

You can easily do this by scrubbing the lips gently with a toothbrush.

Apply a lip primer

Applying a primer before your lipsticks is the way to go. A good primer helps the lipstick stay on and stay put. I always apply my primer and leave it on for a few minutes before applying my lipstick. That way my primer sinks in properly before the lipstick goes on.

Here are some amazing lip primers –

Use a lip pencil

Lip pencils emphasise the lips so they are very much needed in the makeup bag. I have quite a few in various shades, and they really come in handy. My lips always look great when they are lined properly.

The tip is to always make sure your lip pencil and lipstick match. They have to be the same shade to look good. Once you line your lips and apply the lipstick, you shouldn’t be able to see lip liner. It just creates a sharp edge. The only time you shouldn’t use a lip pencil is when you are going for really glossy lips. You can get away with blurry edges when you lips are all glossed up.

Get a lip brush

Applying your lipstick with a lip brush is the best way to create a flawless look. You can’t compare the finish you get when you use a lip brush to when you don’t.

The best way to apply with a lip brush is to fill in the whole lip area, right up to the lip line, and then work into the corners. Also, open your mouth slightly when you apply your lipstick. This way to get to fill out every part of your lips.

Here is a great lip brush –

Blot your lips

Remember to blot your lips with tissue to fix our colour, add another layer of colour or gloss to complete the look. This is one of the most important beauty tricks for the lipstick, but many seem to forget it.
