Beauty Muse – Laila Ali

I love Laila Ali. I think she is the definition of a strong black woman; a real version of Superwoman, and I admire everything about her. I like the fact that she is not your regular girl next door beauty. She almost doesn’t come across a  beauty muse at first glance, but on closer look, Laila Ali is a true beauty, and 1 woman I won’t want to mess around with.

I snooped around to discover some of the 38-year-old beauty secrets , and was pleased to see Aquaphor as her go to beauty brand –

It’s really important to have a good moisturizer and a face cleanser. I try to use products that are as natural as possible without a lot of chemicals in them. One of the reasons why I started working with Aquaphor is because I was already a fan of the products. They are good for so many uses and it was a natural fit for me. I like to use Aquaphor for things that some people wouldn’t even think of. In the evenings after I get out of the shower, I will put it under my eyes because it’s so hydrating. I use my Aquaphor moisturizer on everything from my cuticles to my feet and it always works best when you just get out of the shower and it can really penetrate into your skin. It’s a very natural product and that’s another thing that I love about it. Aquaphor is definitely a must-have for me and for the kids.

I agree with Aquaphor being the holy grail of beauty. I have used the healing ointment for years, along with my kids, and it is one of the best moisturisers out there. It is great for dry skin conditions, and it leaves the skin looking and feeling moisturised, soft and smooth. I will be reviewing an Aquaphor product soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

Beauty Muse – Eva Green

The very successful actress – Eva Green is the Beauty Muse today on Fashion and Style Police, and she deserves the spot because she is so easy on the eyes. I love how different she looks – dark look, brunette, very pale skin, and mesmerizing blue eyes. She is the definition of Beauty and Brains.

I have always admired Eva Green; I like the fact that she is talented and beautiful in a very different way. She is not your regular girl next door which is great. I find beauties like her much more interesting to look at.

I am so into her signature look – dark eyes and red lips. She rocks it like no other and she looks amazingly beautiful in a fierce way. She is beauty goals!

Here are some beauty secrets she shared with Marie Claire awhile ago :

“I have a make-up artist who gives me beautiful smoky eyes for events, but when I have to do it myself, I focus on red lipstick with no mascara, and straight or tied-back hair. YSL Beauty does a tomato-orange matte lipstick that really stays put. I also love Nars Velvet Matte lip pencils because you don’t need to use a separate liner.”

“I hate spending too much time in the hairdressers, so I prefer quick treatments like the L’Oréal Professionnel Pro Fibre service [around £10-£15], which only takes about 15-minutes. My hair always feels thicker and healthier afterwards. I use the shampoo and conditioner at home to maintain it”.

I thought I was the only one who hated spending time at the hairdressers, but I am glad to know that I am not alone, Eva Green is with me, lol.

I hate spending time at the hairdressers, and that is one of the reasons why I have worn only wigs this year. I just don’t have the time and I find it exhausting.

What do you think of Eva Green as a Beauty Muse? Are you a fan?

Beauty Muse – Toni Braxton

Toni Braxton Image

I grew up listening to the sultry voice of this beauty muse – Toni Braxton. I could sing along to all of her songs back then, and I can still do now. Some of my favourites are – Unbreak my heart, Breathe again, Spanish guitar and Another sad love song. Looking back at these hits, I wonder where it all went wrong with Toni. She was a talented artiste, and was so big back in the 90s, but everything went down south, along the way. I miss the old Toni Braxton, but this post is not about her failed career, it is a post celebrating her beauty.

I am a huge fan of Toni and I admire her beauty so much. I think she is a natural. I love her beautiful skin tone, and she looks the type that would look amazing with no makeup and a bad hair day. I want to look like her when I grow up! Who would think this beauty is 48 years old? She could easily pass for a 30-year-old!

The one thing I really liked about Toni Braxton was the pixie haircut. No one has been able to get that exact look in my eyes. The pixie looked amazing on her back in the day, and I kind of miss that look. To tell you how much I loved her pixie cut, I had one when I was 13 years. I took my hair down as low as hers then. Now that I think back, I wonder what I was thinking, lol..

For the record, the pixie didn’t look that good on me. I am still not sure what I was thinking having a pixie but I did for a year or so. Guess it was my teenage hormones, the fact that I couldn’t be bothered with my hair, and Toni had a hand in it as well..

Are you or were you ever a fan of Toni Braxton? Do you think she is a beauty muse?
