Blake Lively Covers Marie Claire August 2016

It is a new month, so it means we have new magazine covers, which I find very interesting. Say hello to Blake Lively on Marie Claire UK August 2016.

Marie Claire Magazine UK

I think Blake Lively looks lovely on this cover. I really like the pose, dress, hair and makeup. It is a very different magazine cover, and I like that about it. The bright prints on the white background looks so beautiful. Marie Claire got this August issue cover so right.

I have followed Blake Lively’s career since her Gossip Girl days and I am happy to see her doing so well. She is married to Ryan Reynolds and has a daughter – James Reynolds, with him.  She spoke about her experience with motherhood so far in the interview with Marie Claire:

‘When women become mothers, it’s all: “How’s your style?”, “Do you dress differently?”, “Do you go to Mommy & Me classes?”’ she told us, ‘I wanted to go to a Mommy & Me class before I was a mom. People really expect that you’re suddenly a different woman, and I think it strips a woman’s identity in a way that is kind of strange, because I’ve always been innately maternal my whole life.’

I see where Blake is coming from and I kind of agree with her. I have always been maternal. I love children and I always wanted to be a mother. So I knew I would be a great mom (if I may say so myself) even before I popped them out. But motherhood still changed me. It changed me a lot. It made me more patient and a lot more tolerant. I now watch programs I never thought I would watch, and do things with my and for my kids I won’t have imagined doing.

We women all become mothers through different routes. We all have our own personalised journey and stories, and I think these stories define us and how we mother our kids.

What do you think? Has motherhood changed you? Do you like Blake Lively’s cover?

Cate Blanchett Covers Harper’s Bazaar UK February 2016

The elegant and talented actress, Cate Blanchett is on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar February 2016, and she looks amazing on it. I love what she has on, an ethereal Erdem gown and Armani blazer, so chic, its untrue. The grey background together with her outfit, gives the cover a sophisticated look. Harper’s Bazaar got this cover right. The only thing I noticed with this cover is Cate’s face looks photoshopped on it. I might be wrong but it looks unreal kind of. What do you think?

The subscriber’s cover is also spot on. Cate Blanchett looks even more beautiful on this, wearing a Giorgio Armani dress. Her makeup is out of this world, her skin looks so flawless, and her beautiful smile crowns it all. I prefer this cover, it looks more real.

I must say, I am not a huge fan of Cate Blanchett’s movies. She is an Oscar winner and all, and she does deserve her awards, but am just not crazy about her movie roles, don’t know why. Same with Nicole Kidman, they look-alike, act alike, and they are both from Australia. Could be an Australian thing then, but I do love Hugh Jackman, so maybe not.

Her style game is ace in this issue though, this Giorgio Armani shirt and Erdem skirt is another fabulous outfit I am loving. That skirt is out of this world, so glam, so stylish. I love it. Fashion aside, I would love to read the ‘Beauty secrets of the A-list’, it looks like it is going to be a great read, and we all need to know how they walk around looking so good, right?

What do you think of Cate Blanchett’s outfits in this February issue? Are you a fan? Which cover do you prefer? Drop me a comment, lets chat.

Thanks for reading.

Millie Mackintosh Covers Cosmopolitan UK February 2016

Cosmopolitan UK - February 2016

Now this is what I call an exciting cover girl. I will definitely be getting my hands on this Cosmopolitan issue. I am excited to see Millie Mackintosh on it, if you watch Made in Chelsea, then you will know who she is, as she was one of the original cast members, and if you don’t watch Made in Chelsea, why don’t you? Lol…Just kidding, I have stopped watching it myself, I got a little bored with their very posh lifestyle. I prefer TOWIE any day, the old TOWIE, that is, the last couple of TOWIE seasons have been painfully boring. The producers better do something about the cast and their boring story lines.

Anyways, back to Millie Mackintosh on the Cosmo cover, I like the fact that she looks very simple in a white shirt, I almost didn’t recognise her. You would think she would go all glamed up. Something different and unexpected is always good. I would love to read about her business and her marriage, a lot of drama went down on social media after her wedding, so reading the gist from the horse’s mouth should be interesting.

I am also loving the £1 price tag, very smart of Cosmo, as most people are broke. My bank balance is currently in a bad state BUT I should be able to find a pound coin somewhere right? Anything for Millie….

I will also love to own one of her designs, Millie is a fashion designer/author/health ambassador; I have been reading a lot about her new collection on Twitter, and I like all what I have been seeing  so far.

The office politics feature also looks like a great read. Cosmo delivers most of the time, and that is the reason why it is one of my favourite magazines. This cover is currently on sale. Will you be picking a copy? Sound off in the comment section.

Thanks for reading and have a great day.
