3 Netflix Series I am Currently Watching

*Collaborative post.

I hardly find the time to watch TV, but I make time for good Netflix series I enjoy watching. I am a HUGE fan of Netflix. We have been subscribers for more than 7 years now, and it is one subscription, I don’t ever see myself cancelling. I enjoy the fact that I can binge-watch my favourite series when I am in the mood to do so. It is good to know entertainment is always there when I need it.

The kids enjoy watching Netflix too. They have their own favourite shows they enjoy watching. I will be sharing their own shows in their words in another post. If you struggle with your internet connection, you could try VPN that works with Netflix for a better service.

3 Netflix Shows I am Currently Watching
Call the Midwife

I have heard a lot about Call the Midwife on Twitter, so I decided to see what the hype was all about, and I am glad I did. I am hooked! It is a drama series with a moving, funny, colorful look at midwifery and family in 1950s East End London.

I am currently watching season 3, episode 2 and I am finding it so interesting. My favourite part is when the women pop the babies out. The endless supply of newborn babies surprises me. They are so cute.

I am also enjoying learning more about the history of the health care system and all. Abortion was once illegal and contraception was once not covered on the NHS. Imagine that!

Peaky Blinders

I have allowed just finished Peaky Binders after hearing a lot about it. It is a British television action crime drama set in 1920s Birmingham, England in the aftermath of World War 1.

I really enjoyed binge-watching this series on Netflix. As a huge fan of Cillian Murphy, aka Tommy Shelby, I knew Peaky Blinders was going to be fun to watch. You have to have a bit of a sense of humour to enjoy it though. It is one of those series you either love or hate, and I love it.

Underground

This is definitely the best series I have seen on Netflix this year. I love the amazing cast and the story of Underground. I have seen the 2 seasons on Netflix and patiently waiting for more seasons to be uploaded.

Underground is an American television period drama series created by Misha Green and Joe Pokaski about the Underground Railroad in Antebellum Georgia. The story is about how a group of slaves make a daring escape from a Georgia plantation in 1857 and undertake an epic 600-mile trek northward to freedom.

If you must watch something new today on Netflix, you should watch Underground.

Have you seen any of these series?

Why Saying NO More Often is Good for You

Everyday you’re faced with circumstances that will push you to make decisions. Most times it’s either a “Yes” or a “No”. The answer you give will either make you happy or sad. Of course, although nobody will happily choose sadness, there have been times when you sacrificed your happiness or peace of mind for the happiness of others.

We know “yes” to denote positivity, optimism or openness to receive only the best, while “no” denotes the negative, pessimism or closed doors. Over time I realized that if you want to say “yes” to a happy, blissful life, you need to start saying more “nos”. Hard to believe? Here are 4 reasons why saying “no” is actually good for you.

  1. People start respecting you

When you are clear about what you want, never be afraid to draw the line. People will respect you when you respect yourself and your time. Drawing boundaries keeps you empowered. You will not be treated like a doormat or push over. Saying “no” will give the impression that you have a life and you have things you value. But most of all it tells people who value YOUR time. Time is an asset you can’t take back so you’d rather spend it on something more worthwhile.

  1. It’s an act of self-love

Serving people is a good thing. But you’ll only be able to give quality service if and only if you give it to yourself first. Remember the saying “love your neighbour as yourself”? Saying “no” so that you have time for yourself is a way of showering yourself with love. You give yourself, your comfort and your goals priority over others. All these build you up. When you’re strong in your love and appreciation of yourself and your mission in life, it is so much easier to be there for others. Self care and love is needed for a fulfilling life.

  1. You save time

You know how you always say “I don’t have time” or “I have so much to do”? If you honestly examine your life and daily activities you’ll observe that 99.9% of the time you could have used to do something so much more important, is spent on devoting your time to someone else. Saying NO regularly gets rid of the selfish people in your life. You’ll no longer have to deal with their unreasonable requests or fit other’s activities into your itinerary, if it is not convenient.

  1. You are in control of your life

When you say “yes” to everything and everyone around you, you’ll find your life being dictated by people. They’ll be the one who will encroach on your time and space. Saying “no” gives you the upper hand in your life. No one will be able to tell you how you should spend your day. When you begin to say “no” you will be able to plan your time and do the things you want to do. You will have a life to live and goals to pursue.

Don’t underrate the powerful word “NO”. It may be small yet difficult to say. But when you’re able to break free and make the transition, you will be the one who will live your life on your own terms and not on the terms of others.

Do you struggle to say no regularly?

Destinations to Visit this Summer & What to Wear

After what feels like years of waiting, we are finally approaching the brink of summer. Soon, it will be the season where we can wear dresses, shorts, sandals and all of our other summer pieces without fear of catching a cold or getting rained on. If you also live in the UK, you are sure to understand what a big deal that is!

As if that wasn’t reason enough to love summer, this is also the best time of year for exploration and travel. For those of you who are yet to decide on a summer holiday destination yet, here are two completely different options that are likely to pique your interest as well as what to wear while you’re there.

Paris

What To Do:

Whether you’re travelling alone, with friends or with your significant other, Paris is always a good idea. After all, who would want to miss out on the chance to sip coffee and munch on croissants while basking in the glory of Notre Dame, the Eifel Tower or the Louvre? Plus, for the shoppers out there The City of Love is also home to a variety of stores including intimate boutiques as well as some of the top designer retailers in the world such as Chanel, Sessun and Cancan.

What To Wear:

Parisian style is based entirely on the idea of remaining chic yet tailored; stylish but with a decidedly conservative edge. Usually, French socialites tend to adhere to the “no more than three colours” rule and opt for neutral tones over bright, flashy hues. Fortunately, it is easier to recreate this style than you might think. All you need is some well-fitting ankle-length jeans, some tidy pumps and a shirt with a feminine edge to emulate Parisian elegance like a pro.

Las Vegas

What To Do:

For those of you who fancy going further afield this summer, how could Las Vegas possibly be ignored? In fact, if you have a bit of a wild side there are few places that will suit you better than this not-so-humble Nevada desert town. Las Vegas is home to The Strip after all: 4.2 miles packed full of hotel resorts, entertainment venues and restaurants. There, you’ll find some of the most famous casinos and games in the world including roulette, poker and slots such as those in the NetEnt Rocks Trilogy. Those of you who have been tempted to try it yourself in the past by playing at tech-savvy online casinos such as Vegas Casino – which offers a variety of Vegas-style games including a live casino – are sure to understand exactly why Las Vegas is a great place to visit. You can also try the casino 500 bonus for more online fun.

What To Wear:

As you may imagine, styling in Las Vegas is a bit trickier than in Paris as there are no rules about fashion but many about attire. That is, you can wear whatever you please but there will be some venues that refuse entry if you’re looking a little too casual. Still, all you have to do is bear that in mind while packing and you should be fine: just opt for casual-formal attire. A nice dress or some tailored trousers with a smart top are sure to do the trick.

There you have it: two very different travel options for you to mull over this summer. Where are you planning to head this summer or are you yet to make a decision? Let us know in the comments below.
