I have been trying the Sukin Natural Skincare Range for some weeks now and I really like the products. They are natural and Vegan (which is really important to me) skincare products. I got a facial scrub and a foaming facial cleanser from the brand. Both products are really good. I use the cleanser every night and the facial scrub once a week.

This facial cleanser is a non-drying, gentle gel cleanser that purifies the skin, without stripping it of its natural oils. It is a natural blend of Rosehip Oil, Chamomile, Aloe Vera, Green Tea, Witch Hazel, and Evening Primrose.

Sukin Skincare review image

This Revitalising Facial Scrub is a cream-based exfoliator. It uses gentle granules of biodegradable Bamboo Extract and Walnut Shell Powder to lightly exfoliate the skin, removing unwanted dirt and impurities. Some of the natural ingredients included are Chamomile, Rosehip Oil, Sesame Oil, and Aloe Vera.

Pros for both products
  • Both products contain only natural products.
  • I love the simple and practical packaging.
  • Sukin is a cruelty-free brand.
  • Both products contain no mineral oils, parabens, silicones, petrolatum, artificial colours, or harsh detergents.
  • I love the natural fragrances of the products.
  • They feel great on my skin. The facial scrub is cream-based and it feels amazing on my skin.
  • A little goes a long way with both products. For the cleanser, a pump is more than enough to cleanse the entire face.
  • They are great for all skin types including sensitive skin.
  • Both products leave my skin soft, clean, and smooth.

Haircare Secrets of the Stars

I got this amazing book – How to be adorned; A girl’s guide to Hollywood glamour by Caroline Cox. The amazing book is about all things beauty and I was reading a chapter about haircare secrets of the stars the other day. I found the chapter really interesting. It was fun to dig into all the beauty tips of the stars like a fly on the wall. Here are some of my favourite hair care tips from the book  –

Constance Bennett

Constance Bennett was an American stage, film, radio, and television actress. This beauty washed her hair every 2 weeks (like I do) with soap and eggs! After washing her hair with soap, she would rub in whites of 2 eggs into her hair and rinse it all off with hot water, then warm water and finally cold water.

Irene Dunne

Irene Dunne was an American actress and singer. Her haircare secret was rubbing in hot oil into her hair 3 three hours before washing, followed by a vinegar rinse. She washed her hair once every 3 weeks.

Eva Longoria

The beautiful Eva Longoria touches her roots with hairspray and eyeshadow the same shade as her hair dye to blend in. I think this tip is one to remember. I love her hair.

Madonna

Madonna loves showing off her roots. She intentionally lets them show to create an edgy look undone look and it works great for her.

Jerry Hall

Jerry Hall washes her hair once a week and doesn’t use a blow-dry. She allows her hair air dry and uses French mink oil on the ends of her hair.

Jennifer Lopez

The beautiful Jennifer Lopez aka JLO rinses her hair with mineral water to flatten the cuticles and help the hair stay shiny. No wonder her hair is always looking so good.

Do you have a tried and tested hair care tip to share?

5 Tips for Perfect Lips

When it comes to makeup, lipsticks are some of my favourite beauty products. I love wearing a bright shade even on no makeup days, like these days. A good lipstick has the power to wake up your face. I have quite a huge collection of lipsticks in a variety of shades, so I have stopped buying for now. It is funny to look back at the days I avoided putting up lipsticks because I didn’t know how best to apply them on my lips. If you are like how I was back in the day, you will find these 5 tips for perfect lips very useful.

Get the lightening right

The first thing you need to do is to make sure you are applying your lipstick under the brightest light possible. That way you have a good idea of how the shade really looks. The last thing you would want is to apply too much or too little lipstick because you have a dull light.

Use a lip brush

This is the oldest trick in the book. If you want your lipstick to stay on longer, use a lip brush. I know it is a lot easier to just apply the lipstick directly but using a lip brush gives a better finish and stays on a lot longer.

Line your lips

I always use a lip liner to line my lips before filling in with a lipstick. That way the lipstcik stays on longer and looks a lot better too!

Powder the lips

After applying the first coat with a lip brush, add some face powder lightly over the lips to act as a base for the second coat.

Blot and reapply

Once the first coat is applied, wait a minute, blot and reapply using a lip brush as before. These steps lock in the shade living a smoother finish which stays on for longer.

Hopefully, you find these 5 tips for perfect lips post useful. Have a lovely weekend. Stay safe xx
