Colour Me Beautiful

I bought the book – The Makeup Manuel by Pat Henshaw and Audrey Hanna (the colour me beautiful consultants) this January and I have finally got around to reading it (yea this year has been that crazy). I have learnt a lot already and I decided to share some beauty tips on here.

Fashion, style and beauty go hand in hand, so from time to time I will write up some beauty related posts. I am definitely not a beauty or make-up professional, still learning but will share my knowledge on here. Image

Skincare is the beauty topic for today. As with your wardrobe, it is important that your make-up is appropriate for the different stages in your life and for the different occasions. The first stage to achieving a beautiful/youthful look is to care for your skin.

You can take care of your skin through the following:

1. A good healthy diet: A balanced diet will give your skin a healthy, glowing appearance. Go for fruits, vegatables, zinc-rich foods and foods rich in vitamin A.

2. Drinking plenty of water: Aim for eight glasses a day (about 1 to 2 litres)

3. Beauty sleep: Try to get 7 to 8 hours sleep each night.

4. Exercise: Exercising helps to unclog pores and flush out toxins from the skin. Make sure you remove any make-up before you exercise to avoid clogged pores which cause blackheasds and also take a shower after exercising as evaporated sweat may leave behind salt that will clog up your pores again.

That is all for now. I will be discussing more about skincare and the various types of skin in my next beauty post. Feel free to share your beauty secrets below.

Remain beautiful.
