Bucket List Additions You Need To Consider

*Collaborative post.

Everyone has a bucket list. That list of places that they dream of going to one day, and slowly ticking them off one by one – that’s the bucket list. Your bucket list has to be filled with dream destinations and experiences that will ensure that you make those wanderlust-filled daydreams turn into real memories you make with others.

The thing is, expanding what you have on your bucket list isn’t always easy to do. Despite the entire world of places to see and things to do, it’s hard to choose which you should do first. So, let’s take a look at some of the additions that you should be considering to ensure that your bucket list is the best in the world!

  • The Grand Canyon, Arizona

You need to have the Grand Canyon on your bucket list. Yes, it’s a giant cracking gorge in the ground, and yes, it looks like a squiggle on a map. However, the Canyon is rare and rocky, and a river carved it! Okay, so it took two billion years to carve it out, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive to look at. You could take a chopper over the gorge and really see how far it goes out. Seeing the Canyon from the water level allows you to appreciate the black, red, purple and orange strata that makeup one of the biggest natural wonders of the world.

  • The Sistine Chapel, Italy

Authentic art, crowds of people, a ceiling painted by Michelangelo – what’s not to love? The Vatican Museum sees the footfall of around 25,000 people every day, and the photographs of the iconic ceiling are prohibited. The Last Judgement can also be found here, and it’s one impressive painting!

  • Everest, Nepal

You do not have to get to the top of Everest to experience Everest. Most of the mountain is a graveyard for those who tried to make it to the top and didn’t. However, you can still trek to Everest Base Camp. It takes around fourteen days to get there, and the views are amazing with most treks requiring specific permission to be at the camp for the night. Still, it’s one to add to the bucket list!

  • Seeing The Northern Lights

Seeing the Aurora Borealis is a classic bucket list item for a lot of people, and there’s a good reason. The lights are beautiful, naturally found in places like Iceland, and they offer a mysterious and mystical look into the universe. Of course, it’s all about light refraction, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be magical, too.

  • Head to Namibia

While the Aurora Borealis is a good one to add, the clearest place to see some celestial sites is Namibia. You can see stars everywhere when you leave the city, but if you go somewhere dark and clear, you’ll see what feels like the entire universe looking back at you. The Nature Reserve in Namibia is one place that has been gold-certified as a Dark Sky Reserve. There aren’t any cities or towns that could drown out the sky with light pollution. You’ll see the magic of the undiscoverable – and it’s worthy of being on the list.

  • The Turtles At Ningaloo, Western Australia

Whether you want to see nature in all its glory, or you want to head to Oz at least once make sure you go to Ningaloo in Western Australia. The Reef isn’t as big as the Great Barrier Reef, but it’s big enough that you’ll see over 500 species of fish as well as the marine turtles. There are seven species of marine turtle in the world, and near Ningaloo, you’ll see three of them nesting on the beaches.

  • Head To Scotland

Did you know that you can sleep on a private isle? Head to Scotland and stay on one of the many Summer Isles. You don’t have to be Branson-rich, but you do have to know where you can visit. Tanera Beag is the place to go as the second biggest of the almost twenty Summer Isles. You can kayak on the sea from the mainland, and you can look for seals in the lagoon, climb the 83m high hills for the views and you can pitch your tent to enjoy the dark night sky.

The right bucket list items are going to make your life so much more interesting. You need to add these items to the list today and start making plans for overtime at work – you need the cash to make your dreams come true!
