Benefits of online dating

*Collaborative post.

The pandemic has led to an influx of virtual first dates and it is now really popular. Many singles are mingling from the comfort of their homes and meeting different people, which is amazing. However, it can be a bit daunting if you have never had a virtual date before. It feels almost the same way as a first online interview, you don’t know what to expect, but with the way things are at the moment, the pros of virtual dating massively outweigh the cons in my eyes.

Benefits of online dating

Here are some of the many benefits of online dating –

You get to meet different people from the comfort of your home

Like I said previously, the pros of online dating massively outweigh the cons, and this benefit is one of the main benefits of online dating. You can meet singles in any location you are interested in and you get to meet more online than you would normally come across in-person. If you are interested in meeting singles in Cambridgeshire for example, all you need to do is to sign up with a Cambridgeshire Dating Site, and then you have access to locals who are single in the area.

It is easier to date from home

With the current state of affairs, it is easier and possibly a lot safer to date from home. Video dating is becoming the norm for first virtual dates. so all you need to do is get dressed like you would normally do for an in-person date, have a good internet connection and device, a quiet spot at home, and you are all set for your date.

It is easy to get started

You don’t have to wait too long to join the online dating scene, it is super easy to get started. Dating websites like this Cambridgeshire Dating website allow new sign ups to get started in less than a minute. You don’t have to be tech savvy to date online. It is a lot easier than you think.

You should dress like you are going for an actual date outside your home. Don’t do virtual first dates in your loungewear or pyjamas. Dress for the occasion and get the right outfit and makeup on. First impressions are everything and you should look your best for your first virtual date.

  • Don’t take yourself too seriously

It us likely going to be a tiny bit awkward on a virtual first date, so prepare to laugh it off and relax a little. Go with the flow and try to not take yourself too seriously, Dating should be enjoyed and not endured.

  • Have a list

The best part about online dating is that you can have a list of questions you may want to ask with you. This is a great way to ensure you ask all the right questions. You could also include ice-breaker questions or conversation starters to help you when you become nervous.

  1. I met my late husband online in 2002 through a general chat site when mobile chat groups online first started. As long as you take the same care as you would dating anyone with safety etc. it’s a great way to meet people.

People said I should be careful meeting someone online. It didn’t set out that way. We were friends first, chatted by forum and inbox. Then moved to texting and so on.

My answer of to be careful who I meet was “I met the ex husband in a nightclub and look how that turned out”

It’s a great way to meet new people for dating and friendship. I have met as friends people this way.

When David and I set our wedding date for 2007 the registrar told us even then she got one a week of people who had met online. Go for it anyone who is reading.

Nope if anyone thinking it I haven’t taken it up again. I’m widowed. My late husband was and is my soul mate and best friend. Death ended his life. It didn’t end my marriage. I dance this world to my tune until we are reunited
