Sometimes when I go shopping, I find myself picking practical pieces over fashionable ones. A low heel boots for example, will be a practical item to have this season rather than a high heel boots but that doesn’t stop most of us from splashing out fashionable items rather than going for more functional ones.

I believe it is very important to know when to strike a balance. Sacrificing comfort for the sake of fashion doesn’t sit well with me. I see girls struggling to walk in sky-high heels on a cold, wet day or when trying to catch a train. Why risk falling and hurting yourself (very embarrassing) just to look fashionable? Is it really worth it?

That said, I do have a couple of “fashion led” pieces in my wardrobe which I wear depending on where I am going to and how I am getting there, but most of my comfortable, practical pieces and footwear are what I wear on a daily basis.
