Beauty Muse: Cardi B

Cardi B is the beauty muse of the month. This successful singer/rapper is slaying not just music and fashion, but beauty as well. Her skin is so flawless and her makeup is always so perfect. I am not a huge fan of her social media platforms or her music, but I do admire her as a beauty muse. Cardi B is beauty goals all day, every day.

Many may find Cardi B a little too much in everything. Her makeup is sometimes a lot and she does look like a handful. But I think she is a natural beauty. I have seen many photos and videos of her with little or no makeup, and she looks even more beautiful. I would love to be a fly on her wall to check out her daily skincare routine. It won’t surprise if it was nothing outside the ordinary. She is one of those beauties that is just blessed in the beauty department.

Here are some bits of Cardi B’s skincare routine as told by her makeup artist – Erika:

To start with, I gently wash Cardi’s face and then thoroughly dry her skin with a light towel. I always use a gentle cleanser like a Hydrating Gel Cleanser instead of a harsh exfoliant before makeup application. Once the skin is prepped properly, I start applying the makeup.

Drying the face lightly with a soft towel is really important. You don’t want to be too hard on your face. Also, using a good cleanser is really important. I have fallen in love with this new natural face cleanser, and my skin is thanking me for it. It is important to pay attention to the skincare products you use.

Haircare Secrets of the Stars

I got this amazing book – How to be adorned; A girl’s guide to Hollywood glamour by Caroline Cox. The amazing book is about all things beauty and I was reading a chapter about haircare secrets of the stars the other day. I found the chapter really interesting. It was fun to dig into all the beauty tips of the stars like a fly on the wall. Here are some of my favourite hair care tips from the book  –

Constance Bennett

Constance Bennett was an American stage, film, radio, and television actress. This beauty washed her hair every 2 weeks (like I do) with soap and eggs! After washing her hair with soap, she would rub in whites of 2 eggs into her hair and rinse it all off with hot water, then warm water and finally cold water.

Irene Dunne

Irene Dunne was an American actress and singer. Her haircare secret was rubbing in hot oil into her hair 3 three hours before washing, followed by a vinegar rinse. She washed her hair once every 3 weeks.

Eva Longoria

The beautiful Eva Longoria touches her roots with hairspray and eyeshadow the same shade as her hair dye to blend in. I think this tip is one to remember. I love her hair.

Madonna

Madonna loves showing off her roots. She intentionally lets them show to create an edgy look undone look and it works great for her.

Jerry Hall

Jerry Hall washes her hair once a week and doesn’t use a blow-dry. She allows her hair air dry and uses French mink oil on the ends of her hair.

Jennifer Lopez

The beautiful Jennifer Lopez aka JLO rinses her hair with mineral water to flatten the cuticles and help the hair stay shiny. No wonder her hair is always looking so good.

Do you have a tried and tested hair care tip to share?
