Wish List for Bags

Hey fashion lovers! I have not published a wish list post in a while so I will reintroduce them into the blog content. Online window shopping is one of my favourite things to do. I enjoy surfing various online stores and taking note of items I like, so when I am ready to purchase, or when there’s a sale, I have the links ready. Here are some stylish bags I am currently loving –

Gucci Blondie Branded Leather Tote Bag

When it comes to quality leather handbags, Gucci is one of my favourite designers to shop. This handbag is one of the new season’s designs, and it is such a beauty. I love the simplicity of the design. It has the classic Gucci look, which screams luxury and quality. The fold-over design means it would be easy to store away if you don’t have enough storage space for your bags. It also has three compartments, which is handy. I think this stunning handbag would be a great fashion accessory for various looks. What do you think of this Gucci handbag?

Mulberry Islington Medium Leather Shoulder Bag

This gorgeous Islington medium leather shoulder bag by Mulberry is another item on my handbag wish list. I like the colour but currently don’t have anything like it in my bag collection, so this would be a much-needed addition. Mulberry is an amazing designer, so it is not surprising to see how beautiful this bag is. The design ticks all my handbag boxes, I like the structure of the bag a lot. It would be a great bag for the office or formal events. Do you agree?

Chloe Marcie Medium Shoulder Bag

This Chloe Marcie Medium Shoulder Bag is a beauty to behold! The tan colour is simply stunning, and the simplicity of the design is just refreshing. Chloe is another brand I like, so it doesn’t surprise me to have this on my bag wish list. It looks like a very durable bag that would stand the test of time and look amazing doing it. Are you a fan of Chloe bags?

I love this Antigona small leather top-handle bag by Givenchy. It looks super stylish and I know it would be a fab addition to my wardrobe. This is one bag I need to check out for myself in real life because it is described online as small, but looks like a fairly decent-sized bag. The boxy silhouette and chunky hardware make this bag stand out for all the right style reasons. Do you agree?

Stella McCartney Falabella Mini Woven Shoulder Bag

I saved the best for last with this one – Falabella mini woven shoulder bag by Stella McCartney. This is one of my favourite fashion brands. Her designs are simply phenomenal and they scream quality! This shoulder bag has my full attention. I like the shimmering navy blue colour and the entire look of the bag. It would be a nice addition to my bag collection and would blend in nicely with my entire wardrobe.

Staying Stylish on a Budget

Staying stylish on a budget can be a bit tricky, especially with the rising cost of living. However, with the right tips, it is possible to stay stylish on a budget. Once you understand your personal style and your budget, and you know how to work with these, your fashion world becomes so much more fun.

Here are some tips to help you stay stylish on a budget –

Keep your wardrobe uncluttered

This is one tip that is not as popular, but keeping your wardrobe uncluttered helps your clothes breathe, and allows you to easily shop your closet and spot any gaps. I recently did a massive declutter of my wardrobe and being able to get rid of unloved items felt so good. It also allowed me to really see spot gaps that needed filling for the spring months. I realised I didn’t really have springy pieces that were stylish and comfortable enough to work from home in. If you want to stay stylish on a budget, the first step is to declutter and see what you are really working wit

Create or maintain a capsule wardrobe

Having a capsule wardrobe allows you have a fab collection of pieces and accessories that embody your personal style, and this helps you create various looks with minimal effort. Apart from the fact that having a capsule wardrobe can be seriously stylish, it also makes fashion shopping a lot more affordable, as you would find that you don’t have to shop so often, and you would get more wear out of every item.

Look out for sales

Before you go shopping, look out for which stores have items on sale. If none, consider holding on until you can get the item for a cheaper price. With the rise in cost for pretty much everything, it is important to avoid impulse buying, and shop more smartly. I love buying items on sale that I would have bought at full price. It feels to shop and save money at the same time.

Mix high-end with high street pieces

This is one of my favourite style on a budget tip. Mixing high-end pieces with high street pieces is a smart way to style on a budget. Styling a River Island or NEXT dress with a Gucci handbag and Stella McCartney heels is super cool.

What do you think of these style tips? How do you stay stylish on a budget?

Is Fashion Blogging Still Profitable?

Fashion blogging was a big deal back in the day. I remember scrolling multiple fashion blogs many years ago, soaking in all the stylish content.  I enjoyed reading blogs, especially those with fashion and style content. Some of my favs were Fashion Bomb Daily, She Wears Fashion, The Blonde Salad, and the likes. It was always interesting to see what these style bloggers, and which style pieces and accessories were trending. My interests have changed in the last few years. I have not visited any of these fashion sites in more than 5 years. To be honest, I am not even sure if some of these blogs still exist.

Having said that, I still love fashion but I am not as into it as I was before. I still love reading, but I now only read non-fiction books. Times have changed and so has my taste, and I am sure the same can be said for many. Life would be so dull if we all stayed the same….

Is Fashion Blogging Still Profitable?

Many wonder if fashion blogging is still profitable and my I think it is. It all depends on how passionate you are about creating regular stylish content, and what you perceive as profitable. What Fashion Blogger A may call good income, may be peanuts to Fashion Blogger B. What may be considered profitable for one may not work for another. I know many fashion bloggers have tweaked their own blogs so they can share other types of content, and I also know many who have stopped blogging altogether.

When I started Fashion and Style Police in 2012, it was meant to be a creative outlet for my stylish ideas. I was on a very different path then and I truly enjoyed fashion blogging. Over the years, the blog name stayed but the blog evolved to be more of a lifestyle blog, and it started to generate regular income and I have discovered that the evergreen content keep generating income.

Show me the money

Fashion blogging is still profitable. Many fashion bloggers are full-time bloggers with steady income coming in, so it is doable but it’s a lot. You have to be passionate about your blog and be creative enough to create regular blog posts to attract sponsorship from brands. Also, you have to utilise social media to spread the word and create income. Many bloggers make more money from social media ads than from their own blogs, so having a strong social media presence is crucial if you are looking to make money as a blogger.

Having said, full-time blogging is not for everyone. I was a full-time blogger for many years and I can say I am in a much better place. My blog is now a side gig and I have a full-time j0b, which provides the much needed stability. I won’t change my full-time blogging years for anything though. I learnt a lot about being self-employed and being my own boss. It gave me a lot of freedom for when I needed it the most and I picked up a lot of life lessons on the way. Fashion blogging is profitable and highly recommend for those who have it in them.
