Summer is coming, despite what the constant rain storms might say. As coronavirus restrictions begin to be lifted, you might be overcome with the dire need to chuck your entire wardrobe and buy up your local shops! Summer is the time to show off your beautiful outfits in the sunshine, but unfortunately, shopping is an expensive hobby to take on.

If you are searching for ways to save money on your outfits this summer, you have arrived at the right place. In this blog, we will explore how to save money on gorgeous outfits this summer!

Buy versatile pieces that can be worn different ways

Fashion is all about choices, so it’s understandable if you want an array of clothing options to choose from this summer. In an ideal world, we’d walk into our giant walk in wardrobes, picking a new dress for each day, without a care in the world!

In reality, though, most people have a limited budget for their summer outfits. For that reason, one way of saving money while still giving yourself options is by buying versatile pieces that can be worn in different ways.

What does this mean? Let’s take a look at an example. The new UK clothing brand Never Fully Dressed has got the right idea – they stock high quality pieces that can be reshaped into entirely new pieces, if you have the know-how!

Never Fully Dressed aren’t the only brand that sell versatile pieces – search for reworkable pieces for your summer wardrobe 2021!

Go second hand – even if you’re skeptical!

When most people want to buy a new piece of clothing, they immediately head to the webpage of their favourite brand.

However, second hand clothing is coming back into style. This is largely due to the emergence of increasing climate consciousness and platforms such as Depop giving people access to second hand clothes.

If you aren’t used to shopping for second hand clothes, you might have missed out on many incredible money saving moments! Why not head to eBay, Vinted, Depop or any other second hand clothing platform to see what you can find? You might find high quality clothes, shoes, bags and accessories that are in great condition and are under half the price of retail.

Got an event to go to? Hiring is your best option

If you are considering buying a brand new outfit for an event, such as a wedding, you might be alarmed at just how much you could be spending on a new dress, shoes and bag.

One way that many people get around this is to Hire dresses. This is an increasingly popular way of wearing a fabulous, high quality outfit to an event, without having to splash out hundreds, or even thousands, on the piece.

Hiring clothing is also a super sustainable option, making it an even wiser choice in today’s climate!

Final Thoughts

Looking fabulous every day doesn’t come cheap – but with these amazing strategies in place this summer, your bank account won’t hurt so badly!

The stylish Karen Huger aka Grande Dame is the Style Icon for the month of February. For those who do not know this beauty, she is one of the housewives in The Real Housewives of Potomac. I love watching her on The Real Housewives of Potomac because I am sure I would be inspired by her outfits. This woman has great charisma and she makes everything she wears stand out. She doesn’t have to try too hard to be stylish, she does it effortlessly.

Karen Huger had an interview with Paper Magazine not too long ago and she spoke about her personal style and how it has evolved in the last few years. Here is an excerpt from the interview:

My style is and has always been classic elegance with a modern twist,” Karen explained. “While I remained true to my everyday which simple fashion throughout this season, I definitely took my fashion sensibility above and beyond. I sprinkled more couture purses, dresses, and wraps throughout the season. The couture addition took my fashion to the next level.”

The couture addition has definitely taken her fashion to the next level. I love how couture accessories a lot. They finish up her looks nicely.

How brands can work with fashion bloggers

*Collaborative post.

Fashion and Style Police was initially set up as purely a fashion blog in 2012. I was so into fashion back in the day (I still am but into other things as well now) and I wanted a creative outlet to explore all the crazy fashion and style ideas I had. That quest led to the creation of this blog. If you scroll through my fashion posts category, you will find all sorts of content on fashion and style. Over the years, I have learned how to create my own space on the web and how to stand out as a fashion blogger.

How brands can work with fashion bloggers

In other to succeed as a fashion blogger and start to earn an income from your blog, you need to attract brands who will be interested in working with you on your blog and social media platforms.

As a fashion blogger, there are so many ways to work with brands but I will be talking about the most popular ways to collaborate with brands and earn some money whilst doing so.

Sponsored posts

Sponsored posts are one of the most popular and lucrative ways of earning money from your blog. Once you grow your blog and start getting steady traffic, you will start to attract brands who are willing to work with you on sponsored posts. Sponsored posts usually work with the brand and you collaborating on a blog post. This involves agreeing on the theme of the post, images, links, and anchor texts. An agreement on a fee and terms of payment is usually done prior to the post being written.

Sponsored posts work great for fashion bloggers UK and brands as they are a great way of promoting a brand and earning income for the blogger as well.

Product reviews

This is similar to sponsored posts but the only difference is that products are sent to the bloggers to be photographed and reviewed on the blog. Sometimes the bloggers receive payments and sometimes they don’t. I have published product reviews on this blog for years. Some are sponsored by brands and some are not. The truth is I enjoy trying new products and sharing my thoughts with you all. I really like photographing new pieces and accessories and showcasing them on the blog and on social media platforms. Having a fashion blog enables me to connect with various fashion brands and explore their amazing collections. It is a win-win.

Product review collaborations are a great way to work with brands. It is great especially for new UK fashion bloggers who are trying to stand out from the saturated blogging industry and create exciting content for their blog.

Affiliate marketing

This is another way to make money as a fashion blogger or any kind of blogger. For every affiliate link a reader clicks and makes a purchase, you get a commission.  I started affiliate marketing some years ago and it has been a steady way of working with different brands and earning some money by the side while providing engaging content for my blog visitors.

How to get the best out of your collaborations with bloggers with Get Blogged Marketplace

It is wise to agree on the terms of the collaboration before starting. Payment terms should be agreed upon prior to the collaboration. As a blogger, I always appreciate it when brands send me all the details I need in as few emails as possible. The back and forth can be draining and time-consuming. This is why it is easier for all parties involved to understand exactly what the collaboration would entail as quickly as possible.

This is one of the reasons why I love working with Get Blogged Marketplace. Posting a job on Get Blogged Marketplace is a quick, easy, and profitable way to work with many UK Fashion bloggers. As a brand, you can gain the best search engine optimisation results without spending a fortune or spending hours trying to find the right fashion bloggers for your campaign. On Get Blogged Marketplace, brands can easily connect with some of the best fashion bloggers in the UK.
