Make taking care of your well-being a lifestyle

Well-being is something I am very passionate about and my passion has led me on a journey of learning with various experiences. A few months, I finished my undergraduate thesis and it is was mainly on well-being and how the impact of our personality traits and working conditions on it. My findings from the study was significant and it just confirmed my suspicions on well-being.

The importance of overall well-ness cannot be overemphasised. It is so important but yet it gets taken for granted so frequently until it is too late to turn back the hands of time.

It can be tricky to pay attention to your well-being in such a busy loud world, but it is crucial to do so. The more you pay attention to your mental and physical health, the healthier you become. Staying on top of your well-being is a daily task. It is not a crash course and it is not something you can do for sometime and stop doing. Taking of your well-being is a lifestyle.

So how do you take care of your well-being and make it a lifestyle? Here is one way to go about doing just that –

Stay in the present

Staying in the present could be seen as staying grounded. Avoid making plans too far away in the future and avoid dwelling or ruminating on the past. The past is gone and the future is not here, all you have is the present moment so stay in the present. Focusing on the future too much could lead to anxiety, and dwelling on the past could cause depression, which would negatively affect your mental health.

It is okay to make plans but try as much as you can to stay fluid and attached to any rigid outcomes if you can and try not to plan too far into the future. So focusing on anything beyond a year into the future may be too far depending on what it is. Every case is different so personalise staying in the present to suit your needs and to fit the situation.
