In the pursuit of finding the right hair products for my natural hair and that of my daughter’s, I have come across so many haircare products. I recently came across Just For Me Natural Hair Milk by Soft & Beautiful. My hairstylist used it on my hair and I liked it. So I ordered one for myself and my daughter to share to see how we get on with it. We have used this hair product for over 2 weeks now on a daily basis, and we really like it. It is an amazing haircare product. I love what it does to our hair, especially my daughter’s hair. I don’t have to worry about our baby hair going astray now thanks to this amazing Just For Me Natural Hair Milk.

PROS
  1. This haircare product does what it says on the pack. It smoothes the hair edges and leaves it all shiny and smooth.
  2. It is alcohol free, which is great.
  3. This product works best for tight, curly or wavy hair.
  4. It does not leave the edges hard after application, which is amazing. I hate it when haircare products that are meant to smoothen the edges, dry them out.

CONS

None.

I can’t fault this product. It performs brilliantly and it is now one my favourite haircare products.

Should Concealer Go On Before Foundation?

*Affiliate links.

I mentioned in my last beauty blog post about me discovering concealer should go on before foundation. Well I have tried it and I am now completely sold on applying my concealer before foundation. At first, it didn’t make any sense to me. The Foundation makeup is the base of the entire makeup. I thought the only product that should come before the foundation is the primer, so I have applied my concealer after applying my foundation for many years now. Until I stumbled upon a beauty writer that was strongly against this method of makeup application.

Should Concealer Go On Before Foundation?

Yes! You should apply your concealer first before your foundation. Your makeup should start with primer/moisturiser, concealer, foundation, cosmetic powder and the rest. Foundation is deigned to even out the skin tone, while concealers are for hiding dark circles beneath the eyes, blemishes, age spots, large pores and other facial skin issues. Concealers are great for making your eyes pop and for creating a flawless makeup

The way it works is for you to hide what needs hiding with your concealer, before you even out the rest of your skin tone with the right shade of foundation.

How to Use Concealers

I use concealers sparingly as it is easier to add more if needed than to get rid of excess concealer makeup. I dot it concealer lightly on spots needed and blend it gently with a concealer brush for a smooth finish. Less is always more when it comes to concealers and foundations especially. The last thing you would want is to find your heavy makeup cracking after a few hours.

3 Foundation Makeup Rules

I have been vlogging a lot about foundation makeup on our YouTube channel, and this has led to me writing this post. It is very important to get your foundation makeup right. When your foundation is applied properly, every thing else will slide on effortlessly. Your foundation is the base coat and it is designed to even out skin tone. I have mentioned in many of my beauty videos, that I hardly ever use just 1 foundation. I prefer blending in at least 2 different shades and brands of foundation, to get the right shade for my skin tone.

Here are 3 Foundation Makeup Rules you may find useful –

Get the right shade of foundation

I struggle with finding the right foundation shade, it is either too dark or too light, hardly ever perfect. Which is why I have taken to blending different shades together. If you wear the wrong shade of foundation, it will appear like a mask on your face, and it will crack, which is not a good look.

The lighter the coverage the better

A good foundation would disguise everything from uneven skin tone and fine lines, to a tired skin and spots. I like my foundation to be as light and natural as possible. I find they easier to apply and to have on. Believe it or not, I hardly wear makeup these days, so I don’t have foundation on my face on most days. But when I do, the look I like going for is natural; I like to look like I don’t have any foundation on.

Apply your foundation makeup quickly

The trick with applying foundations is to apply it quickly within seconds before it dries out. You usually have only a couple of seconds to apply your foundation before it evaporates so time is crucial. I apply moisturiser/primer before putting on my foundation. That way I have a good base to work with. I am testing out a new makeup rule that says the concealer should go on after the primer and before the foundation. I will be shooting a video trying that makeup rule out so do subscribe to my YouTube channel so you never miss a video.
