Beauty Muse – Sharon Stone

The lovely and talented actress –  Sharon Stone is a forever beauty muse. She looks amazing for a 63-year-old. I have been a huge fan of this beauty for many years. I still remember the first movie I saw her in (King Solomon’s Mines) back in the early nineties, and I have seen many more of her movies since then.

Sharon Stone definitely deserves the spot this month as a Beauty Muse on Fashion and Style Police. She has also featured as a Beauty Muse on Vogue earlier this year. I came across the article and was blown away by some of Stone’s quotes. Here are a few of my favourites:

On the secret to her youthful appearance

“I’m just happy – a happy person,” she once said. “The idea that being youthful is the only thing that’s beautiful or attractive simply isn’t true. I don’t want to be an ‘ageless beauty’, I want to be a woman who is the best I can be at my age.”

She is clearly a very happy person, always full of smiles on the red carpet. Happiness starts from within and it is amazing to see a woman her age embracing all parts of herelf and staying in her happy place. Sharon Stone is a breath of fresh air!

Her makeup artist – Amy Oresman speaks on Sharon Stone’s beauty

“Sharon is fearless and her zest for life is infectious,” says her make-up artist of over a decade, Amy Oresman. “She understands what real beauty is: self-love and self-care. Her looks are timeless because she knows beauty is not an hourglass, slowly dripping into nothingness.”

Real beauty is definitely self-love and self-care. That is the secret to staying healthy and youthful. If you struggle with caring for yourself or loving yourself, no matter of makeup or skincare would hide the effects on your skin.

Finding The Right Career In The Beauty Industry For You

*Collaborative post.

There is nothing better than being able to forge a career doing something you love. The fact is, there is no set age for you to discover the right job for you. Finding your employment at 20,30, 40 or even 70 is something that should be celebrated.

The trick to finding a career you love is to indulge in something you are passionate about. These days there is a wealth of job roles that didn’t exist ten or even five years, meaning the market has opened up drastically to allow people to expand their horizons and forge ahead in a new career.

One such industry in the UK that continues to thrive is the beauty industry. Over the years, cosmetologists have been able to relearn new skills, adapt their styles and learn new procedures and treatments to allow them to grow and expand as the market changes.

If you have an eye for beauty and are passionate about helping look and feel good in your own skin, then retraining in a career in the beauty industry can be just the option for you. In 2020, the UK beauty industry was worth £27 billion.

There are different courses and levels of education required to help you become qualified for many of these career options. On top of this, you can always take refresher courses and completely new courses to challenge yourself as and when you choose to help further progress your career.

Depending on the area you want to train in, you can enrol at local colleges, private training centres or head to university to study more technical aspects such as product branding and to promote new beauty products and treatments or to learn more about the pharmaceutical side and cosmetic science to allow you to learn to how to develop your own beauty products and treatments.

With this in mind, what are your options for careers within the beauty industry?

Makeup Artist

There are no prerequisites for enrolling in a makeup artist school; the only criterion is that the student has a strong desire to work in the field. Flawless foundation procedures, concealer application, and contour and highlight are among the topics covered in the course. Other topics include understanding the function of a makeup artist, utilising corrective makeup techniques, and the materials necessary for the work.

Your course will help you to discover how to identify the right products for different skin tones, complexions and more to allow you to achieve a truly flawless finish.

If you are already adept at applying makeup, you can enhance your CV even more by learning the art of permanent makeup application. Adding permanent makeup training to your repertoire can allow you to work with a broader range of clients who need something more permanent or less complicated than a standard makeup routine.

Hairdressing

Hairdressing is a career that is well-known throughout the world. The hairdressing industry offers a wide variety of employment prospects. Students will master the following skills in hairdressing: hair making, on-scalp whole head and retouch blending services, client consultation, lighting products, workplace safety, hair making equipment usage, processing time, heat acceleration, toning and toning products.

Beauty Copywriter

If you prefer to use your words and help people discover more about the products and procedures they can undertake, then you can become a copywriter.

A beauty copywriter is someone who writes blogs and articles about beauty, fashion, and trends. A fashion magazine is an example of a product that is the result of beauty copywriting. A beauty copywriter can expect to earn an annual salary of £40,000 on average.

Spa Treatments

In the field of spa beauty and body therapy, students learn cosmetic science, advanced facial treatments, facial electrotherapy, eye treatments, ear piercing, pedicure/manicure, hair removal and removal of unwanted hair, cosmetic makeup, diet and exercise, nutrition, heat treatments, body massage, professional ethics and business, first aid, health, safety, and hygiene in the salon.

Educator

If you are already in the beauty industry and want a new challenge, why not look at training to help you educate up and coming stylists for the future. The beauty industry will always benefit from the knowledge and experience of those in their field, and if practising your art no longer ignites that fire for you, then why not ignite that fire in others?

Store Owner

Beauty is about more than just how you look. It is about the confidence beauty products and treatments can give and the effect of feeling confident and comfortable in your own skin.

Anyone with a thorough understanding of the notion of beauty can choose to create a beauty business in which beauty goods, beauty accessories, and other such items are sold. Retail shops and boutiques are owned by people who understand the true definition of beauty and can offer genuine insights and advice for those looking to find the right products for them.

You can choose to sell only makeup items, skincare times or both and more. You can sell the products alone or offer treatments and beauty services alongside them to create a one-stop beauty shop to cater to your client’s needs. Ultimately the decision is yours, but opening a beauty centre store can be a lucrative option, especially if you run it in conjunction with an online store.

Nail Technician

As a nail technician, you will learn how to groom cuticles, eliminate calluses and dead skin. During your training, you will know how to do the perfect manicure and pedicure on models, along with nail design techniques and applying acrylic nails.

As a nail technician, you could learn the art of warm paraffin wax treatments in which warm paraffin wax is applied to the forearms, hands, and feet to soften and massage the skin. The plant elements in the paraffin wax deeply moisturise the skin.

Nail technicians can operate in various settings, such as a nail salon, a hair/beauty salon, or a mobile nail technician. The choice is yours.

Beauty Muse: Alex Scott

The stunning Alex Scott is the Beauty Muse for the month of October. For those who do not recognise this beauty, Alex Scott is English television presenter, pundit, and former professional footballer for Arsenal and England. Beauty Muse: Alex Scott

I love Alex Scott’s flawless skin; it is so beauty. Her makeup and hair always look gorgeous. I am always eager to see her on the red carpet. She gives me fashion and beauty goals every time.

I read Scott’s interview with Women’s Health Mag and I found the details of her morning skincare routine quite interesting. Here are some excerpts from the interview:

‘I shower first thing in the morning, I feel like it gets me fresh and ready to go. I think my go-to in the shower is just a Radox at the moment and Dermalogica to clean my face.’

‘I’m trying to get better [with my skincare routine] but it’s served me well so far, just Dermologica and face cream and suncream. As I’m getting older, [I] need to put suncream on.’

I use Radox products a lot and I love them. They always smell divine. Also, I have used loads of Dermalogica products and I think they are amazing. It is interesting to discover Alex Scott’s very relatable morning skincare routine. I was expecting it to be a bit more complicated.
