Essential oils are so handy to have at home. I use them in a variety of ways and I am forever learning new ways to make use of them. If you love using essential oils and you like your home smelling good, you should try using them in a diffuser at home. It took me sometime to get used to essential oils and I have blogged about my different experiences with different oils. However, I am now what you would call a professional when it comes to handling essential oils. I have about 10 different bottles of oils and I have read extensively about various oils and how to use them safely.
Before investing in essential oils, I would recommend you do your own research and start small probably with a lighter and easier to use oil like Lavender essential oil, and see how you get on. It is always safer to handle essential oils with care and use as few drops as possible to start with.
Before we dive into how to use an essential oil diffuser, here are some quick benefits of using one at home –
- The fragrance cleanses the air and freshens the room.
- The clean fresh air keeps you calm, focused and energised.
- It also boost immunity.
How to use an essential oil diffuser at home
I have an ultrasonic diffuser which uses waves and water to disperse the oil in the air. It is quite easy to use. All I need to do is fill up the compartment with clean water up to the fill line and add a few drops of essential oils (about 6 drops would do). Once it is on, it disperses all around the room and stays on for as long as I need it on (usually about 25 minutes). I like to play around with various oils. Today I used Geranium, Orange and Ylang Ylang, and the fragrance was simply heavenly. My home felt and smelt like a spa, it was so relaxing.
