The wedding season is in full swing and it is time to start planning what to wear if you have a summer wedding to intend. I like to look well put together when I attend weddings. Weddings are a good excuse to play dress up, so I like to go all out on such occasions. I love seeing men dressed up smart too! A man in a good suit attire would be admired by many so it is a great idea to go dressed up looking very smart. Here are some mens fashion tips for dressing for a summer wedding.
Dress code?
The first thing to do is to pay attention to the dress code if any. That way you have a feel of what sort of wedding it is and how best to dress. If in doubt, the best way to dress to a wedding is to go overdressed. That can easily be overlooked and even admire. But going underdressed is a no-no.
Get a great suit
The easiest way to nail a summer wedding look is to make sure your suit looks good. I prefer dark coloured suits because they tend to look nicer. I also like when a man’s suit looks good on him, so having the right size for a great fit is crucial. It is best to go into a mens store and try out the suit to be sure you get the right size. A suit is not something you want to buy online unless you are certain it is going to fit great. Also, ensure that the fabric of the suit fits the weather. For summer weddings, linen suits work better. You can opt for a linen suit mixed with cotton or silk to avoid excessive crinkling.
Pay attention to the shirt
The last thing you want is to have a not so great looking shirt underneath a great suit. So make sure the shirt you pick suits the occasion. For summer weddings, you can opt for short sleeve collar shirts rather than the traditional dress shirts.
Let your shoes do the talking
When it comes to menswear/mens fashion, shoes are very important. For weddings, only formal shoes would work, so don’t be tempted to wear anything else. You don’t want to ever go to a wedding wearing a pair of sandals or trainers. Regardless of how warm it is, proper shoes are to be worn on a suit at a wedding.
