Shop your wardrobe before you go shopping

Before you go shopping it is important you do a wardrobe audit. This will help you ensure you don’t buy items you don’t need or buy items you have already. I enjoy shopping my wardrobe. It allows me to find clothing I have completely forgotten about and the challenge for me is always how to breathe new life into these old pieces. I enjoy thinking of new ways to style my looks and a wardrobe audit is always a nice opportunity to do so.

Go for preloved

If you find gaps in your wardrobe, you can opt for shopping for preloved. There are loads of websites that sell amazing preloved items, which is great for the environment. Plus many high-end designer brands are more affordable from preloved websites and out-of-season items are usually available on preloved websites as well. If you are struggling with where to start in your hunt for preloved items, start with eBay, Depop, Vinted, Vestiaire Collective, and The RealReal for stylish designer brands.

Don’t buy what you don’t need

This goes without saying but it is one of the most important tips when it comes to sticking to sustainable fashion. Ignore the sales tag and only buy what you need every time. If you don’t need a new dress, don’t buy a new dress even if it is only a tenner. Don’t buy what you don’t need regardless of the price tag. The sales will always be there so ignore the pressure and only shop if you have to.
