Life Update and Thank You 2023

Hey friends! I can’t believe the year 2023 is almost over. It has been a very busy year; a year I can never forget with the many highs and a few lows. I am not one to dwell on the “lows” though as it is a waste of vital resources. Hence, I always focus on the good, noble, and positive experiences. Here are some of the things I have been up to this year –

Study

I have been up to all sorts, work and life has been really busy! As many of you are aware, I took a leap of faith and went back to university a few years ago to study a degree in Psychology. I finished the degree with a First Class in the summer at The Open University, and this led to a new adventure in September. I am currently studying a Masters degree in Health Psychology at Aston University, Birmingham. I was privileged to get a scholarship for this degree, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to specialise in Health Psychology. Health Psychology is something I am very passionate about and I have had my eye on this Masters degree for a few years now. It’s a lot of work and fun at the same time, right up my street, which is just amazing.

Work

With regards to work, many of you may be aware I went back to traditional employment last year. I am still working in the same organisation remotely but in a different role – Relational Mentor, which is now more relevant to my areas of interest. It’s a fantastic role and I am so thankful for the golden opportunity to do what I enjoy to do best.

Blog

So yes, the year 2023 has been very busy in general. I am glad it’s over and I am looking forward to the new year. My blog posts have not been as regular as I wanted them to, due to how busy the year has been, but I am getting into the swing of things, so expect more regular blog posts in the new year and going forward. There will be a few changes as to regards to the content. I won’t be writing blogs on beauty muse and style icons anymore. Also, the tone of the blog posts will likely change slightly and become more personal. I have been running Fashion and Style Police for 11 years now, and a lot has changed in my life as anyone could imagine. So look out for new blog categories and new changes here and there.

How To Stay Healthy While Navigating Your Modeling Career picture

If you love beauty and fashion, you may already have or are considering pursuing a career in this industry. One such option is modelling- and why not? As a model, you can be one of the first to debut a new makeup product, accessories, clothes, shoes, hair products, and so on. Likewise, some modelling jobs require you to travel to new places, which can be exciting. With hard work and perseverance, you can land gigs that could boost your financial stability. However, modelling goes beyond the runways, magazines, and photoshoots. It can be stressful sometimes, which can jeopardise your health. The key is to prioritise your well-being while navigating your career. Here are some helpful ways you can consider.

  • You need sleep to rejuvenate yourself

Granted, the cosmetic industry has released several beauty products that could give you a flawless look. And while they can cover up a tired face, they can’t give you the energy you need to take on the day. This is why you should not underestimate the importance of good sleep. You should note that having an adequate night’s rest can help you maintain a healthy weight. This is because your body reduces the production of ghrelin, an appetite stimulant. While at it, it increases leptin production, suppressing the need to overeat. Moreover, your brain can relax, allowing you to be in a good mood. This is especially beneficial when you have to be on your feet for a long period. Perhaps you want the best sleep but struggle to do so. If this is the case, consider creating an enduring set of bedtime rituals to help your body adjust to sleep. Skincare routine, regular evening baths, journaling, and so on can work well. Your room’s ambience can also promote sleep, so invest in comfortable bedding, dim your lights, and keep your smart devices away from your room.

  • Your nutrition is also essential

Your meals are a non-negotiable part of your health, making it important to prioritise whatever you eat. The goal is to consume a balanced diet of healthy carbs, lean proteins, lots of green veggies, and healthy fats. Combining these meals can give you the energy to power through the day. Likewise, eating well can reduce your desire to eat unhealthy meals, as these can affect your skin by causing premature ageing, inflammation, and acne breakouts. You should also note that knowing how to eat is equally important. Eating three balanced meals daily is what doctors recommend, so keep this in mind. You can also include healthy supplements in addition to your meals; however, ensure you choose the right brands. For instance, products like vegan b12 supplement tablets can increase your vitamin b12 intake while boosting energy. Plus, they are excellent for vegans.

  • Make time for your social circle

Like every career, modelling can be tough and sometimes overwhelm you. If this continues for a prolonged period, you may find yourself dealing with mental health issues. Thankfully, your social circle can support you through these times. Hanging out with your friends and sharing your thoughts can provide an outlet for your emotions, improving your mood. Moreover, their encouragement can boost your confidence, which can reflect in your work.

3 Tips For Finding a Car That Fits Your Aesthetics

If you’re trying to find the right car for you, then you need to think about style and aesthetics. For many, their car is an extension of themselves. This should be a subtle way to express who you are, just like your home. So, searching for your dream car based on your aesthetics will be the right way to go about it.

But before you jump in and just quickly choose a car that just looks nice, you need to know that it needs to be based on functionality too. You can’t just go with looks because aesthetics goes far beyond just that. So, here is what you need to know when finding the perfect car based on aesthetics.

Find a car that fits your lifestyle

The aesthetics of a car can be a deciding factor for many people. Whether it’s a sleek and shiny sedan or a rugged pickup truck, it’s a major consideration. And if you are a country person, you should find a car that is off-road capable. There are hundreds of cars to choose from today. You should do your research before buying a vehicle.

Look at what’s available and choose the model that suits your needs and lifestyle. Purchasing a new car is a significant investment. Make sure to look at fuel efficiency and other functional features. If you are taking the car for a long commute, consider a fuel-efficient vehicle.

Find a car that suits your driving style

Your driving style is just as important as your lifestyle. For example, if you are passionate about hiking, you might be interested in a rugged SUV. On the other hand, if you’re more into music, you might opt for a car with a high-end stereo system. Also, you may have a specific color you’re considering. The colors of your car will influence your choice, so pay attention to this.

Plus, depending on where you live or your driving style, even something like color can make a big difference. For instance, if you live in a large city and love having the hood down, something sleek like black or red could be ideal. Overall, all of this is going to make an impact!

Pick a vehicle that’s in your price range

When it comes time to buy a new car, it is important to take your time and choose a vehicle that is right for you. While yes, you should consider the car’s aesthetics, this isn’t everything. In fact, the aesthetics should be nothing more than a bonus. A car can be gorgeous, but if it doesn’t run well, has too many problems, and is overpriced, would it even be worth it?

Price needs to be a contributing factor before getting a vehicle. Before making a final decision, review owner experiences reviews to help you make a more informed decision. You can even shop around on Edmunds so you can get an idea of the car you should buy.
