We all have body flaws we deal with. I know I have a few I battle with every now and again. And I have found ways to work with them. There are style tips you could make use of if you are dealing with certain body flaws. Changing the way you style your pieces and accessories may help in hiding these body flaws.
Here are some ways you could deal with 6 of the most popular body flaws.
Fuller Bust
You draw attention away from your fuller bust by wearing a cropped jacket. The cropped jacket draws attention to the waist and away from the bust. Wearing a sleeveless round neck shirt or turtleneck also diverts attention away from the busty upper body.
Style Tip – Always wear a well fitted bra to support your full bust. If you are not sure of your bust size, ensure you go in for a measurement in a bra store.
Wide Hips
When it comes to wide hips, the best way to style your hips is in plain colours. A-line skirt in plain colours would draw the attention away from the wide hips.
Style Tip – Shiny or satin fabrics should be avoided because they would only draw attention to the hips.
Big Bottom
Make use of long line blazers and jackets. They hide the big bottom stylishly and allow you get away with figure hugging pieces.
Style Tip – Avoid thongs and G strip undies where possible. Go for hipster briefs with Lycra support to lift your bottom and provide the support it needs.
Short/Thick Legs
Stay away from longer skirts, they would only make your short legs look shorter. Instead, go for short skirts to create the illusion of long legs.
Style Tip – If you are not a fan of mini skirts, go for skirts just above the knee. They would do the work too.
Broad Shoulders
You can style you broad shoulders with cardigans, shrugs and fitted tops. Go for scoop and v-neck pieces. Avoid wearing structured jackets and suits; they would emphasise the broads shoulders.
Style Tip – Say no to shoulder pads. These things should never have been designed.
Flat Bottom
Go for hipster jeans, they create the illusion of a fuller bottom. Also, invest in good shape support knickers to give your bottom some lift and shape.
Style Tip – Go for high waisted jeans with pockets. They make the bottom look rounder and fuller. Low rise jeans make flat bottoms look curvier.
