Happy World Book and Copyright Day

Today is World Book and Copyright Day. The kids wore their pyjamas to school and were super excited. It is all about reading some of their favourite books today, and they love reading, so you can imagine the excitement. At the moment, the twins’ favourite books are I am an Artist by Marta Altes and Max the Brave by Ed Vere. They would happily read them everyday if possible.

I am a lover of books myself. I love reading and I am currently challenging myself to read a book a week. It has been successful so far, I am a few days behind but I know I will catch up soon. I am currently reading – Why Love Matters: How affection shapes a baby’s brain by Sue Herhardt, on my Amazon Kindle. It is a great book with so much valuable parenting information. All parents should read it. It is a book I am learning a lot from. What are you reading?

World Book Day also known as International Day of the Book is an annual event the organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to promote reading, publishing, and copyright. It is amazing to have a day dedicated to reading, publishing and copyright. As a book lover, that is so important to me. The fact this day celebrates these important things is good as they are how I make my bread and butter.

Copyright Issues

I have had my own fair share of copyright issues. There were a few bold blog post thieves I had the misfortune of dealing with last year, which is why my blog content is now protected. You can’t copy anything on my blog with the copy and paste function. I had to get the plugin for that because many blog thieves were busy reproducing my content on their blogs. It was such a distressing time. I felt completely violated and the fact that these people had the audacity to steal my work was so frustrating.

Many of the blogs were reported and the content were taken down once I discovered them. I can’t understand why anyone would think it is okay to steal a blog post but then again we have all sorts of fraudsters around.

Anyways, happy World Book and Copyright Day. I hope your head is buried in a book or a blog post wherever you are 😊

  1. Hopefully sooner or later these kinds of issue will now be solved in an instant. like detecting when someone produce the same content. hehe

  2. Nice article and I would suggest you that whenever you figure out that someone is stealing your ideas and posting it somewhere else then you can approach to google. Google doesn’t appreciate stealing other’s contents so they ban that particular link. I have tried it once so you can give it a try too.

  3. I feel sorry for you about that copyright issue. I am glad that you discovered it and made an immediate action. Going back to the World Book Day,I am glad that we are celebrating this day and encouraging people most especially kids to read a book

    • I use WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click on WordPress. It is free as they host my blog.

    • I use this plugin – WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click, that way no one can copy or paste my content. Taking a picture (screenshot) will show it is my content, and that would be another issue but I am yet to experience that. Most blog thieves are after repulsing your content as their own for seo reasons.

  4. What a great day to have! Reading is so important, and it really allows the mind to wander to places that are only in our imagination.
