New Fashion Trends 2022

2022 is in full swing and the fashion trends are already up and running for the year. If you are what styles and trends are in vogue this season, you are reading the right fashion blog. I am not going with the trends on the runway. Instead, I am showing the amazing fashion trends real people are wearing in real life. So what I have spotted others wearing a lot and what I am drawn to. After all, it is real people that should determine what is real in vogue and what is not.

From the bold colours to the trendy pieces, here are some of the fashion trends I have spotted this year:

Women’s Tracksuits

The new year has brought in the women’s tracksuits trend and it is so cool. I remember tracksuits being in vogue many years ago. It was so trendy then and it is still very stylish now. I was a huge fan of tracksuits for women back in the day and I am also loving it now. They are not only pretty to look at but they are also super comfy.  You can rock them on lazy casual days or when you want to stay comfortable and chic at the same time. I love wearing mine with flats or trainers.

Here is an amazing piece for your shopping inspiration:

Flats and Trainers

I have spotted lots of flats and trainers this season. It looks like the era of heels has taken a back seat sort of, and the flats and trainers are now everywhere. I am more of a flats person on a good day. They look good and they are comfortable and easy to walk in, which is what I need on most days. There are days I feel like rocking my heels but that hardly happens these days. Flats and trainers are back in style and I am happy to see that.

Colour Blocking

This is another trend that has returned and is here to stay this year. If you are a fan of colour block pieces, you will be pleased to see many pieces in the stores now. If you know how to style this two-tone trend, you will have a fashion and style blast this year as there are so many new pieces in store to pick from.

Here is one of my current favourites:

3 Trendy Winter Coats

The weather is changing and autumn/winter fashion is in full swing already! There are so many trendy winter coats in store and online, it is a bit difficult for me to decided on my favourites. I love them all! The autumn/winter fashion season is my favourite. I love the colours and the styles always work for me. If you are on the hunt for some new winter coats, you are in the right place.

Here are three of my current favourite winter coats this season:

I am so in love with this stunning colour block puffer jacket by Tommy Jeans. It is a beauty to behold. I love the colours and the simple classic design. I can picture myself styling this with a jumper underneath and a pair of blue jeans for winter. This coat is definitely one of my current favourites this season.

Barbour International Lineout Quilt £239

This beautiful coat by Barbour is another favourite of mine. I love the length and the stunning burgundy colour. The belt finishes it off nicely. This coat would be a great addition to my winter wardrobe. It ticks all the necessary boxes and I have no coat in this colour or length. I may just get it.

Max Mara Weekend Rapce Coat £490 £245

Another stylish coat up for grabs this season is this Max Mara Weekend Rapce Coat. The colour is beautiful and the design looks fantastic. I particularly like the long sleeves and the fact that it comes with a hood. It is currently on sale on the House of Fraser website, so go have a look on there if you like what you see.

What do you think of these 3 winter coats? Did any of them catch your eye? Please share your views in the comments section below.

Thanks for reading. Have a lovely week.

Stella McCartney says fashion industry is unfashionable

The talented fashion designer – Stella McCartney told the press that fashion industry is unfashionable and needs to be more green to save the planet. She mentioned that the fashion industry is one of the most harmful industries in the world and laws need to be in place to ensure the industry is more sustainable. Stella McCartney met with ten CEOs from the world’s biggest companies in Cornwall to discuss the climate crisis and how to ensure fashion is more green.

Stella McCartney says fashion industry is unfashionable

Here are some excerpts from Stella McCartney’s interview with Sky News –

“I don’t think they know that 150 million trees are cut down for viscose. Whereas I’ve managed to source a sustainable wood pulp in Sweden.

I have always known the fashion industry was doing more harm than good but I looked the other way for many years but no more. It is terrifying to read about the damage the industry is doing to the planet. Sustainable fashion is the way to go and if you are not sure how to go about it, start with buying less, and buying better.

“I don’t think people know anything about it. So for me to be there with these world leaders is really exciting, but also very terrifying because I’m desperate to get across some of the facts and realities of how unfashionable the fashion industry is.”

“I’m kind of here to encourage these world leaders to really look at laws, look at policy change, how to incentivise the young designers of tomorrow, the young fashion houses.”

I hope major changes are made in the fashion industry. Also, I hope sustainable fashion designers are not penalised with huge taxes for going green. It is a shame that anything sustainable is so expensive. It really should be the other way round.

What are your thoughts on sustainable fashion? Do you agree with Stella McCartney about the fashion industry being so unfashionable?
