The T-shirt: A Symbol of Democratic Fashion & Style

The T-shirt: A Symbol of Democratic Fashion & Style

*Collaborative post.

How many t-shirts do you have in your closet at the moment? I have lost count of the pairs I have. Research shows an average individual owns 2 t-shirts at every point in time. The t-shirt is currently the favourite fashion staple for many men, women, and children. Everyone loves a good t-shirt, and I can see why. It is so easy to dress up with a fitted blazer, skinny jeans, and some cool heels, or dress down a pair of jeggings, sneakers, and a denim shirt, and most t-shirts are affordable. Personally, I try not to spend more than £20 on one, but I tend to go for the pieces closer to the £20 price tag as they seem to wash better and last longer. Whenever I can’t think of what to wear, I throw on a t-shirt, weather permitting of course.

The origin of the t-shirt is associated with the uniform of the British and American Navy. It was also originally meant to be worn as underwear, but now, we all wear it as outerwear as well. Today, the t-shirt is known as a symbol of democratic fashion and style, a way people have chosen to express themselves through fashion, and fashion brands are cashing in on it big time.

I like my t-shirt to come in various designs and styles, so I have a variety in my wardrobe. Here are 3 of my favourites at the moment:

Jamaica One Love T-shirt

The t-shirt was a souvenir I received from a family member while on vacation in Jamaica. Against the white background, the print is bright and eye-catching. It’s so beautiful. Would you believe that you can also make prints like this? Several printing techniques are used to create these, including direct-to-film printing, which is durable and produces vivid colors. It will be a staple of my summer wardrobe.

Paris Souvenir T-shirt

I got this pretty pink, Paris t-shirt while holidaying in Paris last year. I feel so girly whenever I have this piece on. My daughter and niece have the same t-shirt and we all look like Power Puffgirls when we wear it, lol.

Zara ‘Just Smile Girl’ T-shirt

This Zara t-shirt is a wardrobe essential. It is great to wear underneath a black or blue blazer, or with a denim jacket when out and about. The necklace attached to the piece just adds to the beauty.

What do you think of these pieces? And back to my first question, how many t-shirts do you have in your closet at the moment?

Drop me a comment.

Thanks for reading.
