Marlo Hampton’s style can be described as bright, bold, fun, and colourful. You can easily spot this style icon wearing sparkly bright pieces like what she has on in the picture above, and she always looks over the top in a good way.

On her love for fashion, Marlo Hampton chatted with Vogue and shared how her love for fashion started. Here is an excerpt from the interview –

“Fashion is just in my DNA,” she says. “I was raised in [project housing], but, at the time, my biological mom would go to the Goodwill to get our clothes, come home, wash them in the tub, and hang them on the line all for us to be the best-dressed kids in Maplewood. People don’t understand it’s so serious to me, and [I understand other] people may not take it as seriously. Fashion’s been there to uplift me when I’ve been down. It really is a part of me, a part of who I really am in my heart and mind.”

Style Icon – Halle Bailey

The Style Icon for the month is the lovely Halle Bailey from The Little Mermaid. We recently watched The Little Mermaid and I really enjoying it. It was very entertaining, funny, colourful, with the same fab storyline as the original. Have you seen it?

I have been a fan of this talented young woman for sometime now. Halle Bailey is a bundle of beauty and brains, and she is always super stylish! The 23-year-old songbird is popularly known as 1/2 of ChloexHalle, and has been making waves on her own as well for many years.

Halle Bailey has an amazing sense of fashion. Her personal signature style stands out for the right reasons. It is always fun spotting this style icon on the red carpet because I know her looks are always on point.

It is always refreshing to find a young stylish woman who is true to herself. Halle Bailey always phenomenon. Her signature locs also add a nice twist to her looks. I love how she wears her signature locs so much and I wish she wore her hairs in the original colour in The Little Mermaid.

Halle and Chloe Bailey chatted about fashion and all with Vogue France and I found the interview very interesting. Here is an excerpt from the interview –

“Fashion holds a huge place in our everyday life, both professionally, and personally. When it comes to our artistry, fashion always becomes a huge statement. It allows us to express ourselves, and even a particular song to help shine it in a new light. We love the way fashion helps us complete the story we are trying to tell; in appearances, performances, and music videos.”

I can see how big fashion and style is for them and I like how expressive they are with their looks. You can read the full interview here.

Style Icon: Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi

The stunning Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi is the style icon this month. For those who do not know who this beauty is, she is a Nigerian model based in New York City. Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi came into the limelight at the tender age of 16 when she won The Face of Africa” contest. This talented young woman has been slaying on runaways and billboards ever since.

I love seeing Oluchi on and off the runway. Her signature style is usually feminine, chic, and elegant. This stylish woman can look good in pretty much anything and she knows it. I love how she puts her pieces together. She is definitely a natural when it comes to fashion and style, but then again, that should come as no surprise since she has been modelling high-end designer pieces since her teenage years.

I recently came across an interview Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi had with Vogue and she talked about where how love for fashion started from. Here are some excerpts from the interview:

Fashion was a huge part of Oluchi’s life growing up in Nigeria

I spent most of my after-school hours at a local fashion house called Henrietta Design Collections. She specializes in made-to-measure traditional Nigerian and Western outfits for her clients. I would hang around, watch, and assist her with errands. Those were my early associations with fashion. She actually introduced me to modeling.

It is lovely to see that this famous supermodel remembers her background and acknowledges where she got her love for fashion and modelling. Many people tend to forget stories like this as they ascend.

Adding a bit of Lagos fashion into her New York Wardrobe

Well, I had to adapt to the style culture to blend in. I updated my closet to main classics that never go out of style . . . including countless jeans. But I infused a little bit of Lagos fashion into my New York wardrobe by mixing knee-length, plain-fabric tunics with jeans on Fridays, and wore caftan dresses on the weekend, especially during summer.

I would love to see her wardrobe. I can already picture the stylish pieces and designs she is describing. Her outfit below is a vivid description of a blend of New York and Lagos fashion.
