Trying to plan your future can seem like a huge responsibility. However, it doesn’t have to be something that stresses you out. Instead, you can let your choice of degree decide for you…
Something You Enjoy
To start with, it could be that you just want to do a degree that you know you’d enjoy. Sure you might know that you can study medicine and get a great job that pays well – but what if you don’t enjoy the sciences? If you know you’re more creative, then pick a topic that you know you’ll enjoy for the duration of four years.
Something With Prospects
Or maybe you want to know that you can finish your degree and get an internship that will fast track you for the career that you want? Maybe as a lawyer or a journalist, you may find that studying the degree in the exact subject itself will help you to make sure you can land the fellowship that you want after graduation.
Something That Earns Well
Finally, you may find that you want to study something that you know will help you to earn a good salary in the future. As you can see from the infographic below, there are a range of degree subjects that could allow you to go on to make a healthy salary in the future. Some examples include a Financial Analyst with $86,310 or a Marketing Manager at $115,750. Just take a look below for further options.

Looking back I 100% went into my chosen career for money and not because I wanted to do it. If i were to go back I would base my degree on what I actually want to do and what I would actually be good at, which is counseling or therapy.
Same here too! My first degree wasn’t what I really wanted, which is why I am now back in uni studying what I really have a passion for.
