These days, I only shop for items I REALLY need. Gone are the days of window shopping or buying a dress just because it looks good. Nowadays I have to actually need what I buy and that is even true with samples too! I reject samples I don’t need. There is no point in having a wardrobe full of clothes and shoes I don’t wear. This is the same for the kiddies as well. They are growing at a terrific rate and outgrowing their clothes and shoes every few months now. There are many unworn clothes and shoes (due to the lockdown and current state of affairs) that no longer fit. This is why my shopping is down to only the essentials that we need now.
3 ways to bring new life into your wardrobe without shopping
My shopping taste has changed but my love for fashion and style hasn’t so I work with my existing wardrobe. There are many ways to bring new life into your wardrobe without shopping. Here are 3 ideas for you –
Pair your items differently
Rethinking the way you wear your pieces is one way to bring new life into your wardrobe. I love pairing my items in different ways to create different looks. That way, every piece or accessory feels brand new even though I have had them for ages.
Season-less items
I am not so into seasons when it comes to clothing and accessories now. Having said there are some items that are only wearable only in certain seasons. Having more season-less items is one way of getting the most out of your wardrobe. That way, you can wear different items in various seasons and style them appropriately.
Make alterations
Making alterations when necessary is one way of extending the life of your pieces and accessories. Sewing a badge on a dress will give it a whole new look. Taking up the hem on your jeans is another fun and stylish alteration you could make.
