Best Essential Oils for Skincare

These three essential oils have all been tried and tested by me over and over again, and they suit my skin so well:

Ylang Ylang

This oil is really good for the skin. It regulates sebum production, can act as a skin cleanser thanks to its strong antibacterial properties, and also works great as a healing oil by boosting the regenerative process of the epidermis. I usually mix Ylang Ylang with other essential oils and carrier oils to create my unique mosturising blend, and it works amazingly well.

Lemon

Lemon Essential Oil is another great oil for the skin. I use it quite a lot, especially in the warmer months, and it works so well for my skin.  This essential oil can help reduce the appearance of acne, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation. It works great as an exfoliator and facial cleanser.

Tea Tree

This essential oil is one of my favourites. I have used Tea Tree a lot over the years in many different ways and it is one essential oil I am very comfortable using. It is great for reducing redness and swelling on the skin. This oil has an anti-inflammatory effect that helps soothe and relieve irritated and painful skin. It also helps reduce the appearance of acne and soothes itchy skin.

I recommend any of these three essential oils for skincare. Like all other essential oils, Ylang Ylang, Lemon, and Tea Tree are very potent so please ensure you handle them with care and dilute them with a carrier oil before applying them to your skin.

Let me know in the comments section if you have tried any of these essential oils. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

Beauty Muse: Emeli Sande

The stunning and talented Emeli Sande is the Beauty Muse for the month of June. She is a striking beauty and her voice is so amazing. I could easily spend the entire day listening to her songs. For those who are not familiar with this beauty, Emeli Sande is a Scottish singer and songwriter. She was born in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, and raised in Alford, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, by an English mother and Zambian father, according to her Wiki Page.

I have been a huge fan of Emeli Sande for many years. My favourite song of hers is Beneath Your Beautiful with Labrinth. I also love Read All bout It with Professor Green.

Beauty Muse: Emeli Sande

If there is one celebrity that rocks the short hair trend really well, it is Emeli Sande. Her short hair looks amazing on her and I love how she styles it differently every time. If you are after some hair inspiration, this beautiful singer should be at the top of your list. Her short funky hair is the highlight of her signature looks; it stands out each time.

I came across an interview Sande did a while ago and I found some of her responses really interesting. Here are some excerpts from the interview with Glamour.com –

On how she transitioned to short hair with shaved sides

So I had this Jamaican hairstylist, and she had this really short blond hair. Every time I’d go there I’d say, “oh, just take a little bit off the sides.” It used to be really big, and I’d be like “a little bit more, a bit more, a bit more,” and finally she was like, “should I just shave it?!” and I was like “yeah!” And that’s how it came to work.

It is great she finally went for the look as it suits her really well.

Makeup trends she is into

I love a red lip. I love wearing black a lot so it kind of just gives you the pop you need. Um, I really like to keep things simple. Before I used to go in and have dark eyes and so much, but now I think it’s cool to just have one or two statements.

I love a good red lip too! It always stands out and all you need to add on for the rest of your face is usually minimal which is great. Red lip looks fab on Emeli Sande.

Product Review: Elemi Essential Oil

As an essential oil lover, I am forever looking forward to trying new oils. I have been using this Elemi Essential Oil for many weeks now and it is really good. I use it in a variety of ways and the benefits are mind-blowing. The fragrance is a mixture of lemon, citrus, pepper, and spice, and it smells amazing. The Elemi tree (Canarium Iuzonicum) comes from the Philippines; it can grow up to 100 feet tall and is extracted by steam distillation from the gum resin.
