3 Skincare Tips for Women in their 30s

Old habits die hard and it’s the same when it comes to skincare. As a woman in her 30s, I know how important it is to take care of your skin and I do as much as possible. Having said that, sometimes I find myself struggling with old skincare habits that no longer serve me. This is why I ensure I write posts like this every now and again to also remind myself of what to do and what to stay far away from.

Skincare Tips for Women in their 30s

Here are my top 3 beauty and skincare tips for women in their 30s:

  • Reduce your shower time and keep the water cool

I know how enjoyable hot water can be especially on very cold days, but hot water is not really good for the skin. It is okay to have a warm every now and again but it is best to not make it a habit. Also, reducing your daily showers to under 5 minutes will do wonders for the skin. Research has shown that hot showers and longer showers and baths strip the skin of its oils which can cause skin dryness and other issues.  It is best to keep bath time as short as possible and keep the water cool.

  • Use natural skincare products

It is best to avoid skincare products with harsh chemicals as they may cause or alleviate skincare issues. Natural skincare products are the best to use for all ages but even with natural products, you still have to be careful especially if you have sensitive skin. For example, I have recently discovered that some natural skincare products made from predominantly tea tree essential oil can be cause skin dryness for me. Which is odd because I love Tea Tree Essential Oil and I use it in a bunch of different ways, The point is that some products may use natural ingredients that don’t suit your skin so always test a small area before using a new product.

  • Pat dry

Always pat dry your skin after a bath or shower. Never rub too hard. If you prefer, you can leave your skin to air dry. I do that when I can and I feel my skin soaks up my moisturiser so well after air drying.

  2. This essential oil is a combination of some of my favourite essential oils – Lavender, Lemon, Tea Tree, and Peppermint.
  3. I like the relaxing fragrance. It smells really nice.
  4. It is super affordable. You can grab a bottle here.
  5. I love the practical packaging. It comes with a pipette which is so handy.
  6. It is vegan and cruelty-free.

Like with every essential oil, you have to be cautious when handling this oil. A few drops are all you would need at a time. I usually put in 4/5 drops in my bath water or diffuser and that is more than enough.
