Favourite Celebrity Fashion Designers

Fashion and celebrity world go hand in hand, so it is always nice to see talented celebrity fashion designers that have managed to combine both worlds and make it work. Many stars step into the world of fashion with terrible fashion collections but make some noise just because they are celebrities. However, those celebrity fashion designers only last a few years before they close shop. You can’t fake being a fashion designer for so long. Soon everyone would get bored of the horrid designs and stop paying attention.

I am a fashion lover and I do find some celebs entertaining. There are so many celebrity fashion designers I like to keep on eye on because of their stylish fashion lines. Here are 3 of current favourite celebrity fashion designers –

Victoria Beckham

When I look back to how Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice, came into the limelight, I am always so inspired. She started off being in a girl band, wen off to try a solo career, and finally found her calling in the fashion world. Beckham is definitely a better fashion designer than a singer. She is so talented woman. I love her designs a lot. Her handbags are just out of this world. It would be nice to own one of her bags someday.

Rihanna/Fenty

This amazing young woman is a bundle of talent that has grown up before our very eyes. I love her singing, dancing, and her designs. Her makeup line is another part of her I really like. It is wonderful how she has managed to wear so many hats and be successful in all of them. Rihanna is definitely one of the best celebrity fashion designers in the world.

Gwen Stefani/L.A.M.B

I have loved Gwen Stefani for as long as I can remember. She has a very distinct look and has always stood out from the rest. I am a huge fan of her music and her fashion label – L.A.M.B, which stands for Love. Angel. Music. Baby. She is one of the few celebrity fashion designers that have managed to combine both worlds successfully.

Style Icon: Twiggy

The Style Icon for the month is the stylish Dame Lesley Lawson aka Twiggy. This fashion guru has been in the limelight since the 60s and she is still very much a busy bee. She started modelling from the tender age of 16 in 1966, and still models even though she is now in her 70s. She has designed a clothing collection for Marks & Spencer and the collection is so stylish. Twiggy still has her style game on and looks amazing for her age. I am a huge fan of her personal style. I would love to look as good as she does in my 70s. She always looks so well put together. Apart form modelling, Twiggy is also an actress and a singer. She released an album, Romantically Yours, in 2011.

In her modelling days, Twiggy was known for her long, false eyelashes, exaggerated eye makeup, and close, cropped hairstyle. The London-based model had a distinct look and it worked really for her. She was one of the big supermodels back in the 60s. I always love seeing her modelling pictures. She always looks so good. This picture below is one of my favourite shots of her in her young days. She has the most beautiful facial features ever!

Twiggy’s personal style is still right up my street. She has a very feminine elegant style and it works great for her. You can easily catch Twiggy wearing stunning dresses and skirts. Here is a brief quote from an interview she had sometime ago about her clothing collection for Marks & Spencer –

I wanted to design clothes that are stylish, easy and comfortable to wear.

I’m very into tailored jackets, so there is a navy one with a red trim that you can pair with trousers with a thin red stripe down the side, too.

There are great ways to wear print and not so great ways. It is super easy to style print ensembles but it is also super easy to get the whole styling wrong. Wearing print shouldn’t scare you but I know many fashionistas stay away from prints. When it comes to print ensembles, it is either you love them or you don’t. Play safe with print accessories

If you are new to wearing prints, you could start off with print accessories like scarves, footwear and bags, to see how comfy you are wearing them. If you are wearing print accessories, it is more stylish to tone down the rest of your look so the focus is on the print accessories alone.Printed accessories is a lighter way to gradually introduce prints to your wardrobe.

Animals prints are easy to style

Animal prints are my favourite. They are easy to style and look amazing. You can also wear animal prints all year long, not just in the summer. Which makes them great wardrobe investments.

Wear two different prints in one colour

A lovely way to wear different prints is to pick two different prints in one colour. That way, the whole look stays nicely blended.
