Tips for wearing print this summer

Hey Fashion and Style Lovers! I hope you are all keeping safe and at home if you can. This post is all about how to wear print this summer. I adore print pieces. They always look so bold and summery. There are great ways to wear print and not so great ways. It is super easy to style print ensembles but it is also super easy to get the whole styling wrong. Wearing print shouldn’t scare you but I know many fashionistas stay away from prints. When it comes to print ensembles, it is either you love them or you don’t. If you are a print lover, you will love these tips I am sharing below. Here are some tips for wearing print this summer.

Play safe with print accessories

If you are new to wearing prints, you could start off with print accessories like scarves, footwear and bags, to see how comfy you are wearing them. If you are wearing print accessories, it is more stylish to tone down the rest of your look so the focus is on the print accessories alone.Printed accessories is a lighter way to gradually introduce prints to your wardrobe.

Animals prints are easy to style

Animal prints are my favourite. They are easy to style and look amazing. You can also wear animal prints all year long, not just in the summer. Which makes them great wardrobe investments.

Wear two different prints in one colour

A lovely way to wear different prints is to pick two different prints in one colour. That way, the whole look stays nicely blended.

Style two prints in contrasting colours

If you want a bolder look, another great to wear prints is to style two prints in contrasting colours. That way the entire look just pops in a stylish way.

Pair colourful prints with neutral prints

Pairing colourful prints with neutral prints is a lovely way to wear different shades of prints. I love doing wearing my prints like this.

Wear prints with other patterns

You can also wear prints with other patterns. Polka dots and prints always look good.

September Outfits 2016

September was an interesting month of outfits on Fashion and Style Police. It was a transition month to Autumn Fashion and I loved it. As you all know, I am a big fan of Autumn Fashion with the layers and comfy pieces, so I really enjoyed styling various looks and photographing them. It was my way of saying goodbye to Summer Fashion and getting myself and wardrobe ready for Autumn.

I didn’t have the opportunity to post as many outfits as I would have wanted because September was a very busy month for me in my real life as well as my online life. But I got away with posting 3 different looks.

Here is a brief recap for those who missed them:

OOTD: It Feels Like Autumn

I had this white dress in my wardrobe for weeks before I actually wore it. I usually shy away from buying white pieces because I use to think they were not investment pieces. But I have sort of fallen in love with white, and I blame it on my Fashion Blogger friend – Moji of Moj n Touch, she makes white look so good.

I found this outfit easy to style. I was naturally drawn to the pieces and accessories. It took zero effort.

OOTD: A Blogger Event Outfit

I wore this outfit to the Street Style Bus Event some weeks ago, and I told you all about why I wear black to press events and all. So if you missed any of the posts, hit the links and catch up.

This outfit was easy to style as well. I am a sucker for animal prints (like you may have already noticed) when styled correctly. I have quite a few in my wardrobe.

OOTD: A Wedding Guest Outfit

So I saved the best for last. My favourite look in September and the most viewed outfit post is this Wedding Guest Outfit right here. I really enjoyed styling this look. It took me out of my comfort zone and I liked the finished look. This wedding guest outfit inspired a lot of my readers and I was very pleased to hear that.

Which is your favourite outfit of all?

OOTD: Its All About the Print

I love animal prints so much. I think the designs look so fiery, just like I am sometimes. I guess that is the reason why I keep buying more and more animal print pieces and accessories. I just can’t get enough. I just find them so beautiful and super stylish!

This Animal Print top is one of my new summer additions. The print got my attention, and I love the fact that it is a light, sleeveless top. Just what I need for this dead warm season. I can also rock this beautiful piece with a cardigan or a blazer when the weather gets a bit chilly. I like pieces I can rock in multiple seasons as I get more wear out of them, which is more value for money.

The bag is also another summer newbie. I love my bags quality, so I knew I had to have this beauty once I laid my eyes on it. I love the colours, and the size. It was also sale, which was a plus. I can see myself rocking these newbies for a long time because they both complement my existing wardrobe, and that is a HUGE deal for me. Nowadays, I hardly go on massive shopping sprees, where is the money? But when I do go shopping, I like getting what I NEED, or what I think I NEED, and I make sure whatever it is I am getting complements my existing wardrobe. That way, I never run out of options, or matching outfits if I am in the mood to match.
